Hate how racist everything has become, and how quickly it’s happened.

I was just looking at facebook, and a ‘Sad face’ newsmaker article came up. Practically all the comments mentioned boats, asylum seekers etc etc. Its really getting me down.

Travelled to the south west last weekend. On the way down no flags on bridges. On the way back, in some areas, every bridge.

Its scary how quickly it’s all happening.

It's absolutely absurb to make sweeping statements against all Muslim men and the demonisation of them as whole is by design. I am sorry that happened to you, obviously we as women go through shit on a daily basis and I'm not denying that. I have also been called a whore, amongst many other awful things by White British men - but I would never state that the majority are sexist and against women expressing themselves, as that would be ridiculous!

I was responding to you after a previous poster reported the same issue upthread and you just took the piss out of her. So it isn’t just my experience and we are allowed to voice our unease despite you telling us to shut up.

What interests me is how much immigration left wing people think is too much. Because we live in a small country and there are clear signs that our infrastructure can no longer cope. If we keep adding more and more people to our population, how will we expand our road network, our train network, our housing stock sufficiently to keep life bearable? Are you happy to see more and more of our countryside disappearing to accommodate the newcomers? At what point will you say enough?

And what about demographics? Are you happy for the white British to become a minority in their own country? We're fast approaching the point where half the births in Britain are to non-ethnically British parent (which is why Muhammad was the most popular boys' name in 2023). Are people allowed to be concerned about that or not?

They think people are just interchangeable little cogs, and that the ethnic replacement of their people is of no concern.

I wonder if they care about the ethnic replacement of Tibetans by Han Chinese? A deliberate government policy, by the way, but accelerated by the new-ish train line and economic opportunities?

Is it okay for the Tibetans to disappear as a people?

A few ‘well timed’ reports? What the actual hell. A CHILD was raped.

I can hardly believe what I am reading on here these days.

The fact a child was raped is HIDEOUS.
The child was raped by a bad man.
This time he may have been a bad man who was brown. Other times it may be a bad man who is white. Colour is irrelevant.
(99% of the time when a child is raped the common denominator is an XY chromosome and it is more rare that a woman sexually abuses a child. Are we suggesting all men are equally able to be molesters?.)
I also agree the taliban are hideous. Often Afghans over here are escaping because they don’t agree with that regime or they helped the British or US armies so are under threat. I am interested in knowing more about the ethnicity of abuse stats as according to Yvette Cooper they have only just started collating them and they didn’t exist earlier than 3 or 4 months ago.

Brexit was absolutely about racism.

No, Brexit was about who ruled Britain. Which was why Kent - bellwhether for the nation many times - voted to leave. The people of Kent had discovered that some aspects of their local government had been outsourced into France, something that did not appeal.
That poster is similar to the 'Labour isn't working' poster used for the election in 1979 btw.
There was a problem with free movement of labour which was driving down wages at the lower ends of society and causing problems for small businesses e.g. sole plumbers etc. The EU is not worker friendly but business friendly in that 'right of establishment' to import non-local labour at lower rates is championed over union rights. The EU benefits the middle classes who get some crumbs off the table with the right to go and live in another EU country (as long as they have a job) and in the import of cheap domestic labour e.g. nannies, housekeepers etc. and being able to study at a university outside one's own borders. It has little benefit for the working classes - who frequently protest in EU countries. Who forgets the referendum of the Greek people against the austerity and selling off of national assets that the EU (Germany, mainly, to whom Greece is now massively in debt) then enforced? Doesn't sound like a democratic utopia to me - actually, utopia, yes, since utopias are (see Moore and Plato) also the tyranny of the 'best' i.e. a self-appointed elite.

Chickenbone123 · 25/08/2025 10:32

I think people have just had enough. I am not surprised that some think this is orchestrated by far right manipulation. But I really don’t think it is. This has been bubbling for a long time and the protests are localised and reactionary.

We didn’t have any in my area despite it spreading across the country. There was a growing displeasure with the local male hotel as it was summer holidays and the good weather meant the migrants were congregating at the park. Of course people are not going to be happy with groups of 50+ 20-30yo men in a small village green for the entirety of summer when there kids want to use the park unchaperoned. But there were still no protests.

We then had the gang rape of the 12yo in Nuneaton. Just no words. That was an abhorrent case. Then there was a protest in nuneaton.

About a week after we had a migrant from the male hotel spent all afternoon trudging up and down one road and tried to sexually assault a handful of women, chase people round park, jump out of bushes and tried to take a 10 year old boy and walk off. That was so odd as there was no tact to it. They either thought it was completely legal and justified or they wanted to be caught for some reason. Either way we had protests after that outside that hotel. None at the other hotel in town.

People have just lost all tolerance. They don’t care if it’s only 1 bad egg in however many. They don’t want the risk in their communities.

It’s really understandable that communities will not stand for this behaviour under any circumstances.

The government now needs to really take the lead. Where the hell is Starmer? Whilst he is sunning himself the country is boiling with rage and demanding action.

This issue was well flagged ten years ago by civil service and nothing has been done. Now here we are.

Lilactimes · 25/08/2025 10:39

Sandyshandy · 24/08/2025 22:23

It is frightening. But it’s not surprising- people are frustrated, they don’t like seeing their local area changed by an influx of people with very different behavioural norms and cultures that may be at odds with the values that most people hold. They like it even less when groups actively demand that established norms are changed țo accommodate new arrivals if it is perceived that it disadvantages the locals

This is often how the Brits abroad behave too - except it’s called expat.

We never learn . All I see is skinhead racist thugs with no more than 2 brain cells between them , being manipulated by popularist Farage and his right wing cronies. I for one ,as a old white ,working class male , will not stand for the rhetoric of the fascists which has no basis in fact . Illegal immigrants committing crimes ? At the end of the day

in an ideal world they would stay where they came from and feel safe enough to do so I don’t believe it’s to do with that but that is my own opinion and then they wouldn’t need to come and infiltrate our country that’s the facts. It is what it is and us all on this thread will never change it. It’s just about hoping the government do the right thing and/or the right ones win next time to do something about the problems we face properly.

the whole world should be safe to live in
anhwhwre and everywhere and they who have different morals and beliefs to us who choose to enter illegally should feel they could stay in their own countries

Infiltrate? Good grief.

Asylum seekers are not the reason for the UK’s economic challenges.

The tax base is too narrow and the welfare state is too large versus what people are willing to pay for. There are hard choices to be made but some politicians hide behind immigration.

I think you misunderstood my post. I agree with you about smearing everyone as racist.

Yes they are everywhere but the majority of them are from a certain religion. They cannot stand women being independent and expressing themselves. Ive walked down the streets and have had stones thrown at me and been called a whore just for wearing shorts and tshirt

Making generalisations about all Muslim men is racist.

I’ve been called ‘P#%!’ by white men and white women, I don’t generalise about all white people because of it.

BlakeCarrington · 25/08/2025 10:44

Greenwitchart · 25/08/2025 10:44

I think there are two issues here:

  • The genuine concerns that as a small island we don't have the infrastructure to welcome such a high number of immigrants, especially illegal ones who come from countries with very different values, for example when it comes to how they relate to women and girls, and who have no interest in integrating in society. And I say that as an immigrant myself who has lived in the UK for 30 years but was born in an EU country.
  • The other side of the coin is far right politicians and the right wing media pushing not too bright men and women to protest by whipping fury on social media and newspapers with dodgy ''facts'' about luxury hotels and generous benefits. They have their own agenda and this is not about just illegal immigration but about being hostile to anyone who is not white and is pure racism and xenophobia. It started with Brexit and continued over the years and this is absolute poison to any decent democracy. Very sad that people are falling for this propaganda and Farage's ''man of the people'' act.

It is very easy for some politicians to scapegoat certain groups (immigrants, disabled people, pensioners, single parents, benefit recipients) because they can divert the public rightful anger about the cost of living in this country from useless, wealthy politicians and their equally wealth and entitled mates who have bleeding the country dry for years and have starved our infrastructure of funding for decades. Oldest trick in the book and people are falling for it.

The colour of a rapist is totally irrelevant, we do need to consider however that it is totally normal for children, mainly little girls to be sold as young as ten years of age to grown men of forty years old in some countries - and some of these men come from exactly these countries. It is not difficult to see why we have a massive problem on our hands in Europe (not just here) and why people are up in arms.

In some countries child rape and molestion is entirely legal. That is a fact.

Muhammad is the most popular name as it is common to have it as your first name, but go by your second name e.g., Muhammad Adam will only ever be known as Adam.

It might not have been about racism for you, but it was for everyone I know who voted for it.

How strange. Everyone I know who voted for Brexit did so on grounds of sovereignty - though the undercutting of wages by free movement of labour was an issue particularly for small business owners who found their prices for jobs undercut, and for people at the bottom of the employment pile who saw their wages cut, but that isn't racism that's economics.
You must know a lot of racists. I don't.
