Hate how racist everything has become, and how quickly it’s happened.

I was just looking at facebook, and a ‘Sad face’ newsmaker article came up. Practically all the comments mentioned boats, asylum seekers etc etc. Its really getting me down.

Travelled to the south west last weekend. On the way down no flags on bridges. On the way back, in some areas, every bridge.

Its scary how quickly it’s all happening.

You are not being taxed to “pay for boat people”.

If you go to the ONS website you can see which ethic groups get the most welfare and which benefits etc and what costs etc. It’s white British. White British also claim the most generous benefits such as PIP and DLA etc.

So you are saying white British people are disproportionately deprived?

The BBC is balanced. As I say they sometimes go too far to invite flat earthers on.

That you think they aren’t suggests your own views are a bit cockeyed.

Where would you get your news from?

I remember those halcyon days when I also thought this...

The progressive left with its love of "intersectional issues" and its need to police how people spoke and expressed themselves brought this about IMO.

They seriously did not even consider the possibility of a reaction nor, much more seriously, how it would play out when it came to the way in which people voted.

Result, the country is in deep shit and we are not, of course, alone in this as a brief glance at the US and the EU will show.

I think it’s actually an economic issue and the way successive British governments have allowed ordinary people of every race to come last in the priority lists and shareholders and CEOs and the City to come first and cream off all of the profits.

If people could get a prompt appt with their gp, there wasn’t a housing crisis, public transport didn’t cost an arm and a leg, and they could earn a decent wage, then most of this recent racist rhetoric, which is truly shameful, would disappear. In the meantime, it’s a useful distraction from what is actually happening.

I get my news from a variety of sources (and have never watched GB News) but you only need to glance at the BBC news page these days to see they are nothing more than tabloid journalism. Even their fact checker has to constantly rewrite their articles because they are wrong. Inconvenient stories get ignored or only published when they can no longer be ignored. They can’t even identify the sex of male sex offenders!

So which sources of broadcast news. You’ve been rather vague.

My written journalism I tend to go to The Times first, listen to Radio 4 in the mornings, would watch Newsnight and 10pm news. Don’t tend to use the BBC website except for sport.

What’s the point of having a country if this is what you really think?

That is what they think though. They may not even realise it, but they have adopted a worldview that considers it illegitimate for groups of people to prioritise their own interests over those of other people.

That worldview has been dominant for thirty years. They’ve been pushing it forward in ever-more-extreme ways, with the result that there are now people who believe in it so much that they can’t even articulate why eg a country shouldn’t have its borders open to all the world, or favour its own people.

Agreed it is

It's happened so quickly? Black and brown Folks have been saying all the time that racism has always been present and active (if covert), and there has been a concerted effort to deny racism exists in Britain. Or - my all time favourite- it's not as bad here as everywhere else!

Well here we are. A few well timed reports on rogue immigrants bleeding the country dry, targeting white women, forming jihad cells... and racism becomes loud, rampant and accepted.

Well, colour me not surprised. It hasn't happened quickly. The veil has just been lifted.

As much as possible I go to the original sources; court reports, studies, statistical reports. Otherwise I look at different sources for the same story. And by different sources I don’t mean different BBC programs. If you expanded your news sources away from Radio 4 you might realise why you need to treat the BBC with rather more scepticism.

It is frightening. But it’s not surprising- people are frustrated, they don’t like seeing their local area changed by an influx of people with very different behavioural norms and cultures that may be at odds with the values that most people hold. They like it even less when groups actively demand that established norms are changed țo accommodate new arrivals if it is perceived that it disadvantages the locals

Who has demanded what? Any specifics or just the same old racist assumptions?

A few ‘well timed’ reports? What the actual hell. A CHILD was raped.

I can hardly believe what I am reading on here these days.

Icebreakhell · 25/08/2025 10:32

Increasing the population by a million a year during endless austerity and economic decline was always going to have negative consequences. Especially when people are allowed to overstay visas etc. The boat people are obviously a tiny proportion of this. There are a significant proportion of people arriving here from very different cultures and this has changed the landscape in ways that would not be accepted in other countries. The successive governments ignore this at their peril, no lessons have been learned from Brexit. It paves the way for Reform to win votes from people who would be considered moderate.

Phobiaphobic · 25/08/2025 10:32

What interests me is how much immigration left wing people think is too much. Because we live in a small country and there are clear signs that our infrastructure can no longer cope. If we keep adding more and more people to our population, how will we expand our road network, our train network, our housing stock sufficiently to keep life bearable? Are you happy to see more and more of our countryside disappearing to accommodate the newcomers? At what point will you say enough?

And what about demographics? Are you happy for the white British to become a minority in their own country? We're fast approaching the point where half the births in Britain are to non-ethnically British parent (which is why Muhammad was the most popular boys' name in 2023). Are people allowed to be concerned about that or not?

So I am racist for objecting to being called a whore for wearing a business skirt and trying to buy a sandwich on my lunch hour? Would you be happy if I just shut up and put up with it?

Chickenbone123 · 25/08/2025 10:32

I think people have just had enough. I am not surprised that some think this is orchestrated by far right manipulation. But I really don’t think it is. This has been bubbling for a long time and the protests are localised and reactionary.

We didn’t have any in my area despite it spreading across the country. There was a growing displeasure with the local male hotel as it was summer holidays and the good weather meant the migrants were congregating at the park. Of course people are not going to be happy with groups of 50+ 20-30yo men in a small village green for the entirety of summer when there kids want to use the park unchaperoned. But there were still no protests.

We then had the gang rape of the 12yo in Nuneaton. Just no words. That was an abhorrent case. Then there was a protest in nuneaton.

About a week after we had a migrant from the male hotel spent all afternoon trudging up and down one road and tried to sexually assault a handful of women, chase people round park, jump out of bushes and tried to take a 10 year old boy and walk off. That was so odd as there was no tact to it. They either thought it was completely legal and justified or they wanted to be caught for some reason. Either way we had protests after that outside that hotel. None at the other hotel in town.

People have just lost all tolerance. They don’t care if it’s only 1 bad egg in however many. They don’t want the risk in their communities.

I’m suggesting the poster accesses some official data. The poster states she is taxed to pay for “boat people who claim all the benefits and loaded welfare bill”. This is not true.

The welfare bill is a huge problem (for various reasons - but will not derail thread) but this is not the fault of asylum seekers or any migrant group.

If the poster prefers all white British people so much - they will be thrilled to discover their tax goes to pay for welfare benefits for white British people (who I am sure are all altruistic, Law abiding and hardworking tax payers who have “paid into the system all their lives”.)

Perhaps at your next big meeting you could ask the offending men to stop calling women whores for walking down the street in a shortish business skirt? This has happened to me recently near my place of work, just like the pp whose experience you’re so happy to take the piss out of.

You might think this is ok and women shouldn’t make a fuss. I strongly disagree.

It's absolutely absurb to make sweeping statements against all Muslim men and the demonisation of them as whole is by design. I am sorry that happened to you, obviously we as women go through shit on a daily basis and I'm not denying that. I have also been called a whore, amongst many other awful things by White British men - but I would never state that the majority are sexist and against women expressing themselves, as that would be ridiculous!

I dunno, the establishment spends ten years telling white people that they are the font of all evil and should check their privilege and you're surprised when they develop their own critical consciousness and decide to prioritise themselves.

So move.

The rest of your post is cobblers.

At the end of the day

in an ideal world they would stay where they came from and feel safe enough to do so I don’t believe it’s to do with that but that is my own opinion and then they wouldn’t need to come and infiltrate our country that’s the facts. It is what it is and us all on this thread will never change it. It’s just about hoping the government do the right thing and/or the right ones win next time to do something about the problems we face properly.

the whole world should be safe to live in
anhwhwre and everywhere and they who have different morals and beliefs to us who choose to enter illegally should feel they could stay in their own countries
