Tea and coffee on waking

I'm wondering if this is a generational thing. I'm mid fifties and myself and DH always have drank either tea or coffee as soon as we wake up. Our young adult dcs don't. Where I work it is only the older staff that drink tea and coffee at all. The younger ones usually have just water or cold drinks. Do you drink it specifically on waking and if do what age roughly are you?

Mid 30's...have to start my day with at least 1 cup of tea...I won't even usually talk to anyone until I've had one...then copius amounts throughout the day.

I have a giant cup of tea on waking as does my DS12

I’m in my 60s & not good for anything until I’ve had a large mug of strong tea, so making a pot of tea is the first thing I do when I wake up.

I've also noticed that the 20 somethings at work don’t drink tea or coffee. They drink water & Monsters.

I'm mid-60's and I love a cup of coffee first thing! Unfortunately I don't get one most of the time as I have a dog which needs a walk the moment he's had his breakfast, so it's feed him, get dressed whilst he's eating, go walkies, get home THEN have a coffee. If I'm at my partner's or daughter's though (they have back gardens so he can go straight out there after his breakfast) then yes, I need a coffee the moment I'm awake! My 15 year old granddaughter also loves a coffee first thing, though not always everyday....
