Warm, mild and sunny here in Kent today
versus
Torrential rain and storm warnings up north

We just having a day in the garden and then going to meet friend for picnic in her garden.

What the heck are you doing if house of children and storms ongoing. In summer fgs! My sympathies!

It’s absolutely hammering it down here in Cumbria with 50mph winds due to hit shortly.

I’m a dog walker and have to go to work shortly - please pray for me 😩🤣

boulevardofbrokendreamss · 04/08/2025 09:13

I’m in London. It’s freezing, windy and is threatening to chuck it down

NE Scotland here. Wet, windy days indoors in the summer holidays are par for the course 🤣. Although this spring-summer has been fantastic. On the cards for us today is board games, sewing clothes for dollies, probably some other form of crafty thing and likely too much YouTube kids/Nintendo Switch. Maybe a family movie if I can convince them to watch something different from usual.

Good luck. My dog wouldn't go past the end of the street this morning.

South west and it is miserable, grey and light rain. Seaside town and I feel sorry for holiday makers as everything indoors is so expensive.

tumblingdowntherabbithole · 04/08/2025 09:20

@DeepfriedPizza mine wouldn’t even go in the garden! I’m doing welfare breaks as the weather is just crazy.

Freezing?? 😁it's 20 degrees!

StillChangingForTheBetter · 04/08/2025 09:25

kent is the south east. Down in the south west it’s cloudy, cold and rainy, as well as blowing a gale.

I'm in West Sussex, overcast, not particularly warm and looks like rain here.

As you can probably tell from my username I'm not remotely fazed by this and am looking forward to my holiday in North Yorkshire next week!

Sally690 · 04/08/2025 09:33

20 degrees and humid in the south (central). Grey and a bit of a breeze but nothing much.

PestoHoliday · 04/08/2025 09:37

The winds have been rather exciting over the past few hours. I'm waiting for a hiatus to go and clear up the mess from the bins that have been blown down the road.

Tarkan · 04/08/2025 09:37

NE Scotland here. The letterbox is rattling like crazy and I’ve had to cancel a trip to the city to return a heart monitor to the hospital as I can’t be guaranteed I’ll get home again with public transport (trains are all off after 12 and the buses often cancel last minute). I’ve spoken to the hospital about it though and they’re happy for me to return it tomorrow instead. It’s a 20 minute walk to the bus station then 1h15m bus journey so not like I could just nip in and home again quickly.

it was also meant to be opening night of a show at my local am dram theatre, I was meant to be working the bar tonight but the show has been cancelled for safety. Rest of the week should be fine for it to be on at least.

Tulipvase · 04/08/2025 09:46

its not cold here but certainly not sunny. Mild, grey and threatening to rain. I’m in the SE.

CozyCoupe · 04/08/2025 10:12

Grey and overcast but quite warm here in East anglia.

Sheknowsaboutme · 04/08/2025 10:17

North west wales. Just a windy wet morning. No different to a summers day.

itsgettingweird · 04/08/2025 10:18

south Hampshire here. Windy damp and not sunny!

5 miles further south than me and you’ll be swimming - I’m that far south 😂

Very glad I’m not in the North today though - stay safe everyone.

Hedjwitch · 04/08/2025 10:21

A bit blowy here in Fife but nothing out of the ordinary so far. Was supposed to be going to the Edinburgh Tattoo tonight but its been cancelled.

ErrolTheDragon · 04/08/2025 10:23

North west England - forecast is it’ll stop pissing down soon and brighten up albeit still quite windy.

hopefully no one will be trying to walk up Ben Nevis today!

F5 here on the south coast and drizzling, hardly warm and sunny.

Owa · 04/08/2025 10:26

North Scotland, it’s pissing down sideways rain, 50mph gusts at the moment and the lights are flickering a lot.

Sonolanona · 04/08/2025 11:03

Oxfordshire...20 degrees but grey and it chucked it down on me while walking the dog. Definitely not warm and sunny!

ExtremelyDivided · 04/08/2025 11:06

Hampshire, grey, drizzly, oppressively humid, definitely not cold.

It's stopped raining, clouds clearing and much brighter. Maybe the holidaymakers will be OK.
