Warm, mild and sunny here in Kent today
versus
Torrential rain and storm warnings up north

We just having a day in the garden and then going to meet friend for picnic in her garden.

What the heck are you doing if house of children and storms ongoing. In summer fgs! My sympathies!

21 degrees, grey and breezy where I am in inner London. I’d love some rain (seriously) as I find it very therapeutic (and I’m also too lazy to wash my car).

It's stopped raining, clouds clearing and much brighter. Maybe the holidaymakers will be OK.

Doesn't the south west have its own microclimate anyway? The sort where its pissing down one minute, you drive two miles to the next beach/cove/inlet and its glorious sunshine? Or two miles inland? Grin

Very true. We often have miserable mornings that turn into glorious afternoons as well. Very confusing when trying to decide what to wear.

Durham here, warm sunny showery and windy as fuck.

Nursemumma92 · 04/08/2025 12:31

Cornwall here and it's windy and rainy. Roads gridlocked as noone knows what to do with themselves!

FrenchandSaunders · 04/08/2025 09:24

Freezing?? 😁it's 20 degrees!

Right!

Bbq1 · 04/08/2025 12:37

Sunny with a cloudless blue sky here in Liverpool but increasingly very, very windy. I won't be walking along the beach today!

I’m not far from London…not sure what that poster going on about!

Even on your forecast it says cloudy turning to light rain in the afternoon, so doesn't sound very picnic-y weather.
I'm on the outskirts of London and it's 20⁰ so mild enough, but breezy, overcast and keeps trying to spot with rain - very disappointing weather. It's amazing how often the weather takes a turn for the worse when school holidays begin in England; maybe we should align with Scotland. Sorry for everyone having the stormy weather right now - hopefully it'll improve soon for everyone.

Many of them! north wales/anglesey even moreso.

Blondeshavemorefun · 04/08/2025 12:46

I’m Kent and not mild and sunny. It’s raining ☔️

likewise but further north. DH got absolutely drenched just walking across the car park after doing the shopping about an hour ago, but it’s almost clear sun now. We debated going for a walk but decided we didn’t want to go anywhere under trees or anywhere likely to get dust blown in our eyes. I picked up a really nasty scratch on my cornea a few weeks ago which was probably due to wind-borne sand, it’s still fuzzy for reading so can’t risk the other one.

Wimby · 04/08/2025 12:47

Pissing down and windy in Birmingham.

HarperStern · 04/08/2025 12:48

Still miserable and lightly rainy on my stretch of the south coast. DH took the day off to do some garden work, he is not amused.

muddyford · 04/08/2025 12:51

Devon here. Brightly overcast, light breeze, nice and warm. But we had eighteen months of rain up to March so this is pretty good.

LavenderBlue19 · 04/08/2025 13:12

Essex here - the weather system is coming up to us from London and it's definitely not freezing! It's breezy, overcast, with a few spots of rain, but humid. Washing is on the line and drying faster than the rain can wet it. More rain expected later though, looks like I'll need to take it in around 3pm.

BobnLen · 04/08/2025 13:18

Northamptonshire, dribs and drabs of rain, not that much but looking fairly miserable all day. Bit windy.

plominoagain · 04/08/2025 13:19

Norfolk here and bloody windy . Managed to get the horse ridden between showers, but she had the devil
in her today with the wind under her tail 😳

WildFlowerBees · 04/08/2025 13:21

South West it’s teaming down but really humid. Roll on autumn! 🍂

MiddleAgedDread · 04/08/2025 13:24

I’m in the amber warning zone and it really doesn’t seem too bad so far! It rained hard in the night but barely had a shower since and it’s been sunny and 19 degrees. Wind seems to be picking up more now but doesn’t seem as extreme here as was forecast.

Temporaryname158 · 04/08/2025 13:24

Well it’s been a wet morning, the first for months and so we have played at home but it’s been dry and sunny since mid March so I can’t complain, we are also on a hosepipe ban due to drought so it’s literally a short term problem as the blue sky is back now and it’s warm!

Westfacing · 04/08/2025 13:33

London - it was 20 degrees when I was out at 11.00, overcast with the odd spot of rain and a bit of a breeze.

Rest of the week is said to be sunny with a high of 26 on Saturday - we shall see! 🌞

InMyHealthyEra · 04/08/2025 13:33

I’m in the East Midlands, it’s very windy, on and off rain. My plant pots are scattered around the garden and I’m worried for my wind chimes.

DS6 is playing Mario Kart and DD4 is playing with her Bluey beach house so a rather peaceful house right now. First time in over a week I’ve not heard “Can we go to the park” “I want to go to the park” “Mum let’s go to the park” every few minutes.

Pissing down and windy in Birmingham.

I hate that combination!

Halfhardy · 04/08/2025 13:35

North Devon here, blustery wind, heavy sideways drizzle, the sort that soaks you in seconds, but surprisingly warm. It's forecast to brighten later.

PeonyPatch · 04/08/2025 13:36

22 degrees in Kent - grey, miserable, breezy and drizzly though. Definitely not summer vibes!
