Provided you don't already. Anything out of production, any age. I have two.

-Chrysler Avenger, preferably a saloon but I'll settle for an estate. Has to be
Chrysler too, not the earlier Hillman. I prefer the lights! I've always had a lot of
time for Rootes Group cars on account of their styling. Similarly, I like the
Chrysler 180 (an enlarged Avenger) and the Sunbeam Rapier and Alpine.

  • Riley/Wolseley Elf. A neat and rather smarter Mini with an extended boot. My
elderly neighbour had one decades ago. It just kept going. The grey colour was a little dull but the car itself was grand.

NissanFigaro

Show-off! The Elf was cute, though. Mine would be an E-type Jag. I know they aren't the most brilliant of machines, but I loved them as a child and it's kind of stuck.

I passed my test in a Triumph Dolomite. I loved that car even though it was bright yellow 😃

The Dolomite (and Dolomite Sprint) was a good-looking car. I believe it was also a very capable performer. Wasn't it largely a pimped-up Triumph 1500?

A VW Fastback or Ford Anglia, I can remember in the 60s I wanted my parents to have a Ford Anglia.

We had them until really recently but lack of use meant that commonsense had to prevail and they went. Had owned them for decades so it was probably a case of familiarity.
I had my MGB GT and my OH had his old Land Rover. He did all the maintenance while I just did some cleaning & polishing.😁

@GarlicMetre nearly beat me to it but mine would be an XK150.

TheTecknician · 25/07/2025 21:01

I'd be quite partial to a Rolls Royce Corniche Convertible too. I'm not keen on modern RRs and Bentleys.
