Would you complain about a neighbour's 7yo child naked in their own garden?

As title. Just wanted others opinions.

Complain to who?

But probably not

FKAT · 21/07/2025 18:07

No

Nichebitch · 21/07/2025 18:08

What, why?

Pinkywoo · 21/07/2025 18:08

No. Would I let my kids (who are younger) be naked where neighbours could see them? Also no.

doodleschnoodle · 21/07/2025 18:08

No.

Lockdownsceptic · 21/07/2025 18:08

Of course not. What ever is wrong with that?

Thunderpants88 · 21/07/2025 18:08

If it was a front garden on a street with other houses I would think the parents are naive idiots and would consider saying something. More secluded back garden with a fence? No crack on

Pollqueen · 21/07/2025 18:08

No

TeenToTwenties · 21/07/2025 18:09

How would I know?

If garden is very overlooked I might mention it in a 'you are aware they can be seen aren't you' kind of way, but not a complaint.

Unless a front garden with no fences/hedges of course when it wouldn't be appropriate.

MemorableTrenchcoat · 21/07/2025 18:09

Of course not, don’t be daft.

Colourbrain · 21/07/2025 18:10

No. I would be overjoyed that the kids are out enjoying the garden. Just don't look and then problem solved.

IsSpringSprangedYet · 21/07/2025 18:11

Not at all. None of my business and wouldn't give them a second glance. Mine use to be in the paddling pool in the nude when they were younger. The trunks and shorts would be off in minutes.

TY78910 · 21/07/2025 18:11

I wouldn’t “complain” But I would mention that they can be seen. It may be that they don’t realise that your windows overlook their entire garden. I’m very conscious of my kids in my garden, we are in new builds and everyone can see into each other’s gardens. There is nothing wrong with my kids running around naked On my own property, But I don’t know who exactly lives next door. For that reason as a parent, I would want to know if someone can see.

No

Child in question has severe SEN and is non verbal. Grandchildren have seen them jumping on trampoline and making comments to the point that something should be said to neighbour? This is the scenario. Thanks for replies so far.

Honestly i dont get overly vocal about the mostly naked teenager and father in the garden behind i just draw the blinds in the upstairs room (his dad took the hint and started wearing actual shorts instead of saggy boxers) but a 7 year old? No

Still no

SweetFancyMoses · 21/07/2025 18:14

No. My children were always taking off their clothes at this age and running around the garden like loons.

I think grandchildren could be directed to face the other way when on the trampoline.

doodleschnoodle · 21/07/2025 18:14

Grandchildren can just mind their own business. Doesn’t sound like it’s got anything to do with them or is affecting them in any way if this child is in their own garden. A nice lesson for grandchildren in there to learn too.

Ted27 · 21/07/2025 18:15

@Anon572747525991

Maybe it's your grandchildren that need to be spoken to then

PickledMuffin · 21/07/2025 18:15

No?

Overtheway · 21/07/2025 18:16

No, it's a small child in their own garden.

Mayflyoff · 21/07/2025 18:18

No. 7 is young enough that it wouldn't be an issue even without SEN.

But isn't this potentially an opportunity to have a conversation with grandchildren about people being different and having different needs?
