Would you complain about a neighbour's 7yo child naked in their own garden?

I cannot imagine anything worse than going out into my garden and having neighbours talking to me over the fence (me doing the same). It is seriously chavvy.

Alright, Hyacinth 🙄

That’s just ridiculous. And irrelevant to the thread.

WTAF. Age 7, maybe 17 bouncing on the trampoline would be a problem, but 7 seriously!

Mjin · 26/07/2025 19:15

No of course not. None of my business

What a sad world we live in to even discuss this!

Correct!

Nah I've had my 8 yo son naked in garden before. He just wonders out the door and goes out to play. Back garden not front one mind. I think we've gone very prissy as a society.

Yep definitely.

Apparently it’s a safeguarding issue because EVERYONE is a possible paedophile.
It’s a naked child in a garden. What a neurotic insecure life the majority must lead to get het up about things like that.

I don't have an children but my knee jerk reaction is in this day and age you never know who's watching so I would want any child of mine at least covered up on the bottom half.
Having said that I think you should be able to do what you want (within reason) in the privacy of your own back garden.
I also appreciate it must be extremely hard if the child has additional needs.

BTW I remember what you could quite innocently takes photo's of your own children playing in the bath and Boots would develop them. There are some rather cute photos of me surrounded by bubbles in the bath when I was little, but the world is a different place now 🙁

if the 7 year boy is bouncing around above the fence line naked, where my smaller female children were playing I would not be happy about it, and I'd be annoyed at the neighbour for not putting extremely simple processes in place to put a barrier in between the two, like hanging something on the outside of the trampoline to give him some privacy, and show their neighbours some respect.

It's fine for children to be naked in their garden, but when they are visible above the fence line, it is actually an invasion of privacy for the none naked side to have that in their eyeline all the time.

You know that most changing rooms allow children under 8 of the opposite sex to change in them?

Do you shield your poor precious female children’s eyes in case they mistakenly see a boy’s genitalia?

thats utter rubbish. If I am sat in garden and a child is naked on a trampoline next door pulling on his bits at age 8 making noises that doesn’t make me a voyeur to look when the trampoline is now making said child higher than the 4ft fence dividing the property. He won’t be a child forever and will still be SEN when he’s a teen. Why is it ok at age 8 and not ok at age 13 or older? Why am I not able to enjoy my back garden without this going on next door? If I bounced on a trampoline naked it would be considered public indecency. I don’t go out my way to look but it’s practically impossible to not see this behaviour right next door.

You seriously don’t understand the difference between an 8 year old, a 13 year old and a grown adult woman jumping naked on a trampoline?? Wowee.

UpDo · 26/07/2025 20:03

I'd mind my own fucking business.

JeremiahBullfrog · 26/07/2025 20:12

People don't turn into dangerous paedophiles if they see a child naked. The dangerous paedophiles are dangerous paedophiles already.

BlueFlowers5 · 26/07/2025 20:23

Why are you looking? No.

Skybluepinky · 27/07/2025 01:47

very common with SEND children, just don’t be so nosy.

Stillwater001 · 27/07/2025 06:22

No. Unless you want to be ripped from end to end.

applegingermint · 27/07/2025 06:27

No of course not. I’d wonder why the child isn’t wearing a swimsuit but equally the pull of a sprinkler in hot weather is pretty strong!
