So we can carry on speaking our truth innit 😂

Someone ‘unaliving’ themselves. It’s a sad subject but such a weird change of terminology.

ChocolateGanache · 19/07/2025 16:13

I was gifted… 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄

ChocolateGanache · 19/07/2025 16:14

It’s giving…

SO MANY CHARITIES ARE NOT REAL I helped someone with going to a food bank, gave them a lift there and back. Honestly the food was shite, not cohesive meals and what's the point of giving someone on the bones of their arse lasagne sheets? Food banks (etc) exist to give dwp an out and allow people to be performative.

Lots of people rely on foodbanks. It’s sad but they do. Maybe try to be less scathing?

BitSilly · 19/07/2025 16:49

Why is everything "dropped" nowadays?
What was wrong with released or launched?

"You have two choices". No you haven't you have a choice, two options.

"Reached out"

"Babe" . No such thing
"Baby" unless referring to a baby.

I always think "dropped" has an air of laziness and lack of care - like plopping something out of a plane on an unsuspecting public.

I'm not in the least bit scathing of those in need.

@CherryRipe1 - this is Cockney rhyming slang - ‘I should think so’ - but out dated now

EssentialDecluttering · 19/07/2025 18:51

Twixtmas - toe-curlingly twee

You'll have to prize them out of my cold dead hands, massively overused on MN and a horrible image.

EssentialDecluttering · 19/07/2025 19:03

prise I mean

Ah thanks for the information. It's slightly less annoying now.

Vivienne1000 · 19/07/2025 20:35

Off on my holibobs…
Its lush
That’s sick
Smile, it might never happen

Alot, abit, aswell among others. They are TWO words, not one. Very common (and grating) on this site.

Noone instead of no one drives me mad!

BitSilly · 19/07/2025 21:06

I agree @IglesiasPiggl it just sounds odd.

Here's another

Swear down.

What's that all about?

OP posts:
Hedjwitch · 19/07/2025 21:07

Physicality
Signage
Baby dad
Holibobs

Mastercom · 19/07/2025 21:38

Talking about elevating something or it being ‘elevated.’

Influencers saying ‘that’s so aesthetic’ AAARRRHHHH

'Lol' in the context of anything that isn't funny. I saw a text exchange this week and part of it read;

'I haven't seen you at the supermarket recently LOL'

'Not sure why, i've been lots LOL'

My friend always uses lol as 'lots of love.' She said she was sorry my relative died..lol

@Vivienne1000 - when workmen or passing strangers would say
“Smile, it may never happen love!” - my retort was - “this is what’s bothering me”

Kingsleadhat · 20/07/2025 12:28

Based off drives me nuts. And waitlist

BitSilly · 21/07/2025 07:54

I've only heard of these on MN -

Crunchy mum
Penis beaker

PistachioTiramisu · 21/07/2025 09:13

'Jump' in the bath/shower - do you mean you are going to have a bath/shower or is it a new gym activity?

X number of 'sleeps' until .......

Grown adults who use the words 'wee' and 'poo' - makes me absolutely cringe. Why do they feel the need to be both childish and explicit at the same time? I don't want to know that you are about to urinate/defecate, thank you.

ItsBouqeeeet · 21/07/2025 09:16

'I'm in my whatever era'

'Such a wholesome weekend'

'Gives me the ick'

🤢

Iwouldratherbegardening · 21/07/2025 09:17

I cringe whenever I hear someone call themselves (or me) 'mama', as in 'hey mama!' or 'I'm so-and-so's mama'.

Also - calling people 'warriors'. Yuck.
