Both found guilty of manslaughter.

Thank goodness.

I don’t understand how anyone can throw a woman out of a window and not be serving a very long sentence for attempted murder, assault and grievous bodily harm. Why wasn’t he in prison after this?

ColinCaterpillarsNo1Fan · 14/07/2025 20:10

They both need locking up to end of their natural lives.

She would have to support a prosecution/give statements etc, she clearly didnt want to

MounjaroMounjaro · 14/07/2025 20:22

Not really, nowadays. I thought the police could prosecute domestic violence without the victim giving consent?

They still need evidence and statements. We work with the police a lot around this and Ive never seen this happen without victim engagement, its always filed NFA.

She wanted a large family. She is as damaged an individual as he is. Read the BBC report about the weird religious cult her mother took her to as a teenager , when she had already shown signs of instability. Her mother left her there.

I read this too, no wonder she's fucked up.

The chaotic lives of Constance Marten and Mark Gordon - BBC News

How the 'toxic' couple's relationship descended into chaos and ultimately led to a tragedy.

JazzyBBBG · 14/07/2025 20:43

The BBC article that came through as an alert on this is shocking. I didn't know things like they left the placenta in the car and that's what sparked the search for the baby. He's a piece of shit undoubtedly but she seems like she'd probably have been unstable with or without him, a privileged posh girl trying to play it rough.

No evidence

Marten hit a car on the way down from being thrown through the window when she was pregnant. Neighbours altered ambulance and the police. Mark Gordon who threw her through the window then obstructed the emergency services in helping her and he never called the ambulance. She spent weeks in hospital.

No evidence?

Nobody saw him push her though. She obviously didnt tell the police that it happened otherwise he would have been arrested- he wasn’t. If there was evidence, then he would have been convicted. There was no evidence.

So if someone working in my house attacked me and claimed a relationship they would be believed? It makes no sense.

So obstruction of emergency workers isn't evidence?

Having read the DM article about their behaviour during the trial I don’t feel a once of sympathy for her. She’s a despicable waste of fresh air.

Completely agree. They are both equally vile and to blame for the death of poor baby Victoria. I hope they suffer for the rest of their miserable lives

Dodeedoo · 14/07/2025 20:53

nope. No specific offence for obstructing the ambulance service.

If you didnt report it, didnt give a statement then no, nothing would happen.

What do you think would happen

What do you mean by 'claimed a relationship'?

Dodeedoo · 14/07/2025 20:53

And if there was an offence of that (which there should be in my view, but thats not the point of this post), he would have been arrested and probably convicted because there would have been evidence of that and the NHS would have pushed for prosecution.

This. A crime hasn’t even been confirmed as such because she hasn’t reported anything and nobody has actually witnessed it x

JazzyBBBG · 14/07/2025 20:55

Also the Daily Mail article - how did such a circus happen? Surely they should have been found in contempt of court? Presume there's a reason this shit show went on so long, they will al be at this if they think they can get away with it.

Dodeedoo · 14/07/2025 20:56

So only an offence if I report it?

The offence of obstruction gets him arrested.

soupyspoon · 14/07/2025 21:00

placemats · 14/07/2025 20:57

Well of course, how do you think otherwise?

An offence in actual fact, but not an offence in law because the authorities dont know about it

And even if the authorities know about it, but are not supported by you to allow the police to investigate and gather evidence, nothing can be done. Hence they have nothing to put to CPS and CPS have nothing to present a case with as prosecutors.

There may be very very few cases where the police take action without victim engagement, so it does and can happen but I havent known of it and I work with lots of people who are victims of crime.

If you jumped out of a window should your partner be charged with attempted murder?

The offence of obstruction gets him arrested.

For the obstruction, as I said, there would be evidence of that and the NHS would push for prosecution

Are you talking about evidence and a conviction for the attack on her or the obstruction of the ambulances? You seem to be flitting from one thing to the other.
