Has anyone tried the M&S strawberries and cream sandwich?

I like strawberries and I like cream and I like sandwiches but I don’t fancy this at all. Apparently it’s their current top selling sandwich. Has anyone tried one?

They're never in stock at my local M&S. There's a space for them, though.

SunshineDeLaSoul · 28/06/2025 12:17

It’s only half a sandwich and it’s brioche but it’s okay. Wouldn’t buy again for £2.80

thatsawhopperthatlemon · 28/06/2025 12:18

Whatever next - rhubarb and custard sandwiches?

IAmTheLogLady · 28/06/2025 12:19

No not personally but I've heard only good things about them.

TakeMeToAnIgloo · 28/06/2025 12:22

I have one in my fridge that I bought on my way past the shop this morning. It cost me £3.20 though, so maybe they are more expensive at the mini-shops!! I'm waiting til the afternoon to try it. I have read good things about them and I have a sweet tooth, so will probably like it. It won't be lunch, though, but more like a treat for afternoon tea.

Fifthtimelucky · 28/06/2025 12:23

No. I’d rather have my strawberries and cream (preferably clotted) on a scone.

ranoutofquinoaandprosecco · 28/06/2025 12:24

They’re based on the really popular ones you get in Japan, my daughter loved them there but we haven’t tried an M&S one yet.

Olika · 28/06/2025 12:29

I was interested until I realised it’s whipped cream cheese.

Ah - so not 2 soggy slices of cheap white, which is what i pictured at first 🤣

Open sandwich on brioche ... Its almost a little flan then .... yum !

Oh! Maybe not then.

I really must read the whole thread 🤣

The factory that makes them is near me and they donated some to an event I went to yesterday. I had one, wasn’t the worst thing I’ve eaten but I don’t plan on having another.

Yeah me too. I guess cheesecake is cream cheese innit, but then this becomes a sort of sandwich, scone, cheesecake mashup which is perhaps a step too far.

x2boys · 28/06/2025 12:39

Strangely I have just seen these on Facebook, I can't imagine I would like them
Sweet and savioury things shouldn't be mixed Imo.

RabbitsRock · 28/06/2025 12:40

Definitely going to try one!

x2boys · 28/06/2025 12:42

They are probably hoping they are going to become a seven day wonder like Prime drinks and Dubai chocolate.

littlemousebigcheese · 28/06/2025 12:44

I found the bread too dry, the strawberries too soggy and the cheese was just too much! Like they overfilled it to pad out the package! I really must stop buying into hype!

soupyspoon · 28/06/2025 12:48

When I ate bread, I used to spread some clotted cream and then Jam on the top of a slice now and then. Lovely. I prefered it to scones which are a bit dense.

EveryOtherNameTaken · 28/06/2025 12:48

Wimbledon has a this to answer for!

Love to know how many have been bought and how many are repeat buys.

Most Asian and Indian and African cuisine

afaloren · 28/06/2025 12:51

I’ve always wanted to try a Japanese one but I don’t know about this now I’ve read it’s cream cheese.

godmum56 · 28/06/2025 12:54

urgh no!

GameOfJones · 28/06/2025 12:54

I don't fancy the cream cheese either..... I don't like cheesecake for the same reason.

I've heard good things about it too from people that have tried it though.

I did say imo ,I'm not suggesting anyone has to agree with me.

I agree with you, sweet and savoury together is just wrong!
