Has anyone tried the M&S strawberries and cream sandwich?

I like strawberries and I like cream and I like sandwiches but I don’t fancy this at all. Apparently it’s their current top selling sandwich. Has anyone tried one?

Like not caramel and salt or anything….?

Sweet and salty popcorn, sweet and sour chicken, bacon with maple syrup. I’m sure there’s more.

I was more horrified that I went to a M+S Food Hall yesterday and they didn't offer the sandwich meal deal 😱
I normally only ever go to M+S Food Hall's at railway stations but this was a stand alone store.
They had the sarnies, the drinks and the various "snacks" - but no meal deal.
I was so weirded out I almost started a thread in here about it.
What's that all about ???

WowIlikereallyhateyou · 28/06/2025 14:06

Tried one last week, not for me. The sandwich filling for some reason made the strawberries taste like they were old. I like them super fresh and they weren’t. The whole thing was a waste of calories for me, very meh.

I just recreated a budget version of it accidentally needing something auick, using stuff in the fridge - Aldi version with brioche rolls and Philadelphia, it was surprisingly nice.
Looked impressive too.

The M&S near me closed down so I’m not sure how I’m going to get to try one. Not sure I’m missing much going by this thread anyway!

These are based on a common sandwich in Japan, they had them everywhere when I went. Deff going to try one!

Needmorelego · 28/06/2025 14:23

Oooh the subway one sounds better because it's clotted cream 😋

Suspect it will taste better too, due to not being prepacked and sitting around

I was interested until I realised it’s whipped cream cheese.

That was me too! I would rather get just their strawberries for this price.

Newmeagain · 28/06/2025 14:28

I think it’s the kind of thing that would be quite nice if made freshly at home. In a factory, not so much.

M&S do a meal deal?? No way, we have a decent sized M&S and there's never been a meal deal. Feel quite put out now!

You get that the bread is sweet, right? Closer to a brioche or sweet bun than bread.

They're popular due to vids on SM of people eating the Japanese fruit and cream sandos.

I'd love to try one but yes, they're like gold dust at the moment!

Oh maybe it's just the railway station ones that do then.
That explains it.
(If I realised I would have gone to the Co-op next door)

Well I feel totally had 😂
My sandwich wasn't even that great (it was a ploughmans one).

everychildmatters · 28/06/2025 17:31

Definitely not!

Needmorelego · 28/06/2025 17:36

Lidl have apparently got strawberries and cream blondies.
They sound nicer.

Has anyone tried the M&S strawberries and cream sandwich?
MaryGreenhill · 28/06/2025 17:37

Whatever next - rhubarb and custard sandwiches?

Don't give them ideas!🤣

amicisimma · 28/06/2025 12:16

They're never in stock at my local M&S. There's a space for them, though.

My son picked one up reduced below half price. Guess he just happened to be at the right place at the right time

bigredboat · 28/06/2025 17:44

I was in M&S at 8.45 and there were only about 5 left. It was quite nice but not worth all the hype. My biggest issue was that the strawberry’s are big (so it looks impressive from the side view) but they tend to pop into your mouth whole when you take a bite so there is then bites of sandwich that are just cream. It would be better if the strawberries were sliced in half and spread about a bit more.

soupyspoon · 28/06/2025 12:50

What?

Pork and apple
Ham and pineapple
Cheese and picklef/chutney
Peanuts and Jam
Strawberries and black pepper
Chicken and cranberry sauce
Chicken and mango
Most Asian and Indian and African cuisine

All gross combinations of foods imo. It’s why I don’t like most Thai or Chinese food.

Wowzel · 28/06/2025 18:24

I had one for lunch recently and it was honestly amazing

Funny how one person’s amazing is another's so what. I found it very average.
