I'm with the Sky reporter who said that Iran will say/do the minimum it has to for survival, while it regroups. This is not the final blow Trump gleefully thinks it is.

The USA has bases all over the Middle East. They will now be targets.
If there is unrest in the Middle East the price of oil goes up.
If the price of oil goes up then Russia benefits.
This is when all the alliances come into play.
Also Trump said he would make a decision in 2 weeks then bombed within 2 days. He is totally unpredictable and his words mean nothing. That will, surely, colour the prospect of any negotiations.

i think the risk of terrorist arracks has now escalated. Hopefully the UK can stay out of it.

Not sure about WWIII as such as that would need a direct conflict between US against Russia or China, which I think is unlikely. I think the terror threat level might increase though such as rebel attacks on shipping in the Red Sea (bad news for oil prices) and improvised attacks in Western countries by individuals sympathetic to Iran/Palestine.

Who is going to come to the aid of the American bases in the Middle East now at risk of- particularly when Trump didn’t even get Congress approval for the raids.
