American targets will be hit but not in the USA - They will be targets in the middle East

You think China would deliver weapons to Iran now? To what long-term strategic purpose? China is not daft, nor are they interested in religious dominance or rivalries. China is interested in money. Always has been. No way will they get involved. It would be astounding if there were not already deniable back channel communications between Trump and Xi. China would have known this strike was coming.
And N Korea or Pakistan? If they dared to take on Trump in any substantial way, neither country, nor their governments, would exist the following week.
America clearly has the guts to accept some local unpleasantness and a few attacks, probably from quasi-state or non-state actors.
But WWIII kicking off over the mad Mullahs of Iran? Naa. Most of the Middle East was already sick to the back teeth with them, and their proxies.

They have already said they stand with Iran and will offer whatever support they need

Not men on the ground so to speak. (Yet) But air defence, Planes and Bombs yes. Because this already been stated

And how would this ‘support’ be delivered? By what means of transport?

And what.models of equipment would be supplied? And what spares and maintenance support? And what operational training?

And if all that was got together, none of it would last five minutes. Iranian skies are entirely open to Israel, and now the US.

Maybe, but I think there's a ways to go yet, like it's not going to start tomorrow or even the week after. But the Middle East is hotting up. Russia/Ukraine is frightening. China thinks America needs to be shown a lesson, and you can already see factions forming, China, Russia, North Korea amongst others are getting very chummy. IDK, most countries have it pretty good ATM, it's whether these bigger powers want to spoil the peace, and I'm not sure they do.

WWIII would only happen if a major power entered the conflict on Iran’s side - and why on earth would they? Russia/China/N Korea/Pakistan have been mentioned - what would be in it for them? Where’s the strategic advantage? What would they gain?

Sure there will be posturing and brinkmanship, but when it comes to putting their money/weapons/troops where their mouth is I can’t see it. N Korea’s kept to themselves for decades, Russia and Pakistan are already busy on their own doorsteps and China’s too busy buying up the Pacific. As far as I can see there’s just insufficient gain to justify the risk and cost of taking on the US.

Russia offered to support the communists in the Spanish civil war, took all the Spanish gold reserves and gave little in return.

The promised support may not amount to much.

Talking of Russia, surely this is bad news for Ukraine - as in, Russia won’t stir up trouble over Iran if the US doesn’t help Ukraine? As in, Trump will fuck over Europe and expect it to help him at the same time? Not meaning to be rude to those who don’t think this is a potential WW3 situation, but it it exactly the sort of tangled mess that is a WW3 situation in the making. And more terrorism. You don’t do nothing about genocide in Gaza, then join Israel in bombing Iran, without consequences.

Trump’s saying the US have wiped out Irans nuclear capabilities. The Iranian top brass have very long memories, that’s a huge worry.
