I've never watched Sex and the city.
I've never read Harry potter.

Is there anything you haven't read or watched.
Sometimes I think things are over hyped.

Same. No interest in either

Princessbananahamock · 05/06/2025 15:37

Fifty shades of grey, walking dead, breaking bad. Doesn’t appeal to me at all.

MatildaMovesMountains · 05/06/2025 15:42

Never read Harry Potter, never intend to. Can't stand Jo Rowling. Never ever watch sports or quiz shows.

NoHope4BobHope · 05/06/2025 15:43

Harry Potter
Star Wars
Doctor Who
The Simpsons

Ddakji · 05/06/2025 15:44

I attempted to watch Succession and gave up after 2 episodes.

I think it’s good to try things even if you realise very quickly they’re not for you. I can’t slag off something I’ve never seen or read! 🤣

Ddakji · 05/06/2025 15:45

Actually, scratch that. I’ve neither seen nor read 50 Shades of Grey and have no desire to.

Ddakji · 05/06/2025 15:45

You need to explain your acronym!

Kathbrownlow · 05/06/2025 15:46

Sometimes I come too late to the party, eg game of Thrones, and I can't be bothered to start at the beginning when the whole thing has long since finished.

Sorry ACOTAR- A Court Of Thorns And Roses series.

dustygrey · 05/06/2025 15:48

OK..... so you're proud you have ignored all the popular things around.... why haven't you read / watched?

(disclaimer, I tried to read 50 shades, but the writing was so bad, I gave up)

We gave up after 1 episode.

I think it's because we'd just watched the Fall of the House of Usher and it felt a lot like that but without the hideous deaths so we felt like we were missing something 🤣

Planesmistakenforstars · 05/06/2025 15:55

Never had Netflix/Prime/Disney/Sky etc (apart from sports channels,) so haven't seen anything that's been on those.

hopeishere · 05/06/2025 15:56

Never read Ulysses 🤣

Never watched Below Deck or Married At First Sight.

spoonbillstretford · 05/06/2025 15:56

I tend to give most thing one or two episodes at least, particularly if they are popular.

There are so many series I couldn't get on with or wasn't bothered about. A lot of them as there are just so many episodes as well - how does anyone find the time? Breaking Bad, The Wire, Sex and the City, Ally McBeal, Mad Men, Killing Eve, White Lotus, Succession.

Never seen TOWIE and I have seen probably one Made in Chelsea. Can't stand Love Island or Big Brother.

I do like Harry Potter and LOTR though. Not fussed about Star Wars or Dr Who, they are ok. Hunger Games I quite liked. Love Bridget Jones. I read all the Game of Thrones books but couldn't be arsed to watch much of the series.

Things I love(d) or always/often watch:

Detectorists
The Diplomat
Department Q
Slow Horses
Keeping Faith
Father Ted
Friday Night Dinner
Malpractice
Sewing Bee
Traitors
Strike
Pointless
House of Games
Countdown
Masterchef
GBBO
Pottery Throw Down
A lot of live football and MOTD

Kathbrownlow · 05/06/2025 16:05

Dr who was never the same after Patrick Troughton left.

PhilosophicalCheeseSandwich · 05/06/2025 16:09

Never read To Kill a Mockingbird
Never seen Dirty Dancing

DoyalikeDags · 05/06/2025 16:14

I loved SATC when it was first out. I don't know if I'd watch it now as a newbie because it is most likely dated.

That being said I haven't watched the SATC films because I think SATC has had its day!

I don't watch reality TV shows such as bake off and I'd rather walk over hot coals than watch a soap opera or shite like Loose Women.

ShesTheAlbatross · 05/06/2025 16:16

I’ll generally try popular shows, unless it’s a genre I really have no interest in. If I don’t like it after an episode or two, I’ll stop. I’ve never watched love island as I’m not interested. I stopped watching both succession and breaking bad after a couple of episodes. I only watched the first Star Wars film. I’ve only read half of the first Lord of the rings, and not seen any of the films.

ChunkingDreamer · 05/06/2025 16:17

There's tons of "classic" films I've never watched, such as Star Wars, Back to the Future, Raiders of the Lost Ark, that people are usually shocked I haven't seen, but they just don't appeal, and they're so big a part of pop culture, I basically know the plots anyway.

I've never read Harry Potter or Lord of the Rings - again, they just don't appeal.

TV-wise, I've never seen Game of Thrones, Sex and the City, or really most of the most "talked-about" shows since the early 2000s.

shellyleppard · 05/06/2025 16:19

Never watched game of thrones, read bits of harry potter. So.....

ThatLimeCat · 05/06/2025 16:19

Not to be a wanker, but I'm not a TV person and haven't watched most big deal shows. No Mad Men, Succession, Handmaid's Tale etc etc. I think most of them look stupid as well. Whenever someone starts telling me about a show I zone out.
