Driving myself mad looking for “The One”. And also I’ve got my wedding head on so these are the type of things I’m obsessed with talking about at the moment!

This would've been my choice if DH hadn't bagsied the Pixies first!!

namechangeGOT · 04/06/2025 05:38

It may be winter outside - Barry White - we got married in December, it was more first song on that everyone could dance to because I hate ‘first dances’! They’re mainly just awkward swaying while people gawp at you!

Highlighta · 04/06/2025 05:47

We had All For Love, Pavarotti and Bryan Adam's version.

I didn’t know that people chose music like this for weddings. I have never really thought about it but church weddings have hymns, and I suppose I thought you get the ones you are given on the board. And I know people do hotels etc but I just thought the venue/dj decided like they do at parties. This is eye opening to me.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a couple do a specific dance for a wedding, just the normal style of dancing that everyone does after a couple of drinks.

i stand educated and a little amazed that there is this much to it!

Truly Madly Deeply - Savage Garden

ifherbumwereabungalow · 04/06/2025 08:53

You’re My Home by Billy Joel. Followed by Birdhouse in Your Soul, which filled the floor, much to the DJ’s surprise!

Quella · 04/06/2025 09:13

Heaven Must Have Sent You by The Elgins. Nearly 30 years ago, so was on vinyl 45 which was mounted in a box frame afterwards.

EvilDJ · 04/06/2025 09:37

We started off with Pulp Something Changed then went into You Never Can Tell Chuck Berry for a laugh because I was still a teenager.

curlycat · 04/06/2025 09:40

Have I Told You Lately - Van Morrison

Never gonna be alone by Nickelback

Come rain or come shine, Eric Clapton & BB King version. Nice slow dance.
"I'm gonna love you like nobody's loved you
Come rain or come shine
High as a mountain and deep as a river
Come rain or come shine"

We didn't have one - not posting to be contrary but just to point out it's not obligatory!

We didn't have one either. In fact we had no dancing/DJ because where we had our reception was a very small family run restaurant and it wasn't something they offered, or we wanted😁

neighboursmustliveon · 04/06/2025 12:28

Especially for you by Kylie and Jason. It suited us and still does. We have been married over 20 years though so not likely relevant to younger couples 😂
