We had a ceilidh so it was just a group ceilidh dance we had, maybe a snowball dance? I can't remember, it was a long time ago. A friend of DH had Super Furry Animals - Fire In My Heart For You. We would have probably had that of it weren't for the ceilidh.

We did not have a dedicated first dance.

However, FIL became very tired during out wedding. So DH without me being aware went home to get the car and fetch him and then took him home to our house (about a 20 minute walk from the venue). My sleazy neighbour grabbed me as the band was playing and no-one was dancing and dragged me onto the floor. I was not that happy about it (not because it was a 'first dance, but because he was a sleaze). Then DH came back and took over just as the band was playing; 'I used to love her.. but it's all over now'.

It was very very funny and we could not stop laughing.

That was 20 years ago.

We didn't have one planned as we had a smallish wedding and it was my second marriage, but our band, who were a duo, were fab. We started dancing at one point and everyone all started acting like it was the first dance and gathered round, taking pics and then we realised, much to the embarrassment of the singer that our first dance was to her version of Back To Black by Amy Winehouse. I just cracked up! It was a lovely version though! I was just trying to get others to engage with the band a bit rather than have our first dance and hadn't actually clocked what the song was. Oops!
