Driving myself mad looking for “The One”. And also I’ve got my wedding head on so these are the type of things I’m obsessed with talking about at the moment!

Save the last dance for me - Englebert Humphadink.

Songbird by Eva Cassidy

Sengi · 03/06/2025 19:31

Lucky by Colbie Caillat and Jason Mraz

grimgrinningghost · 03/06/2025 19:39

Diamonds and Pearls - Prince. The words are beautiful.

RockahulaRocks · 03/06/2025 19:45

Hooked on a feeling, Blue Swede. It won out over Love Shack by the B52’s which was an 18 yo me’s song choice.

CallingElfRescue · 03/06/2025 19:49

I Knew I Loved You by Savage Garden, also So Beautiful by Darren Hayes

First wedding (25+ years ago) You Do Something To Me by Paul Weller. I still can't listen to it now.

Second wedding (12 years ago) Flowers in the Window by Travis. I've never heard of anyone else having it for their first dance, but we both love it.

Oh lord at my first job at Pizza Hut Travis was one of the ten songs on a continuous loop.

It's not bad but I will never listen to it again 🤣

Songbird by Eva Cassidy

I had the Fleetwood Mac version. I still smile every time I hear it

JustAMum31 · 03/06/2025 19:52

Didn’t have one 😊 But for various other “significant moments” in our wedding we had:

  • In These Arms - Bon Jovi
  • Still Into You - Isabella Kensington (originally Paramore)
  • You’re Still The One - Teddy Swims (originally Shania Twain)
freezingmytoesoff · 03/06/2025 19:52

You’ve got the love, Florence + The Machine

Firefly100 · 03/06/2025 19:55

The blue Danube - Strauss (it was a waltz)

WhatMummyMakesSheEats · 03/06/2025 19:55

I’m Scottish but I had Skerryvore - Take My Hand

PrincessSD · 03/06/2025 22:40

Rule the World by Take That. We liked the line ‘Stay by my side girl and we can rule the world.’

Hoolihan · 03/06/2025 22:46

Let's Get Married by The Proclaimers. It was fab as not too slow/awkward. The hokey cokey is a brilliant idea though!

Hoolihan · 03/06/2025 22:51

I used to frequent a very busy wedding forum in the noughties and about 95% of couples back then chose Amazed by Lonestar, Truly Madly Deeply by Savage Garden or Everlong by Foo Fighters.

eggandchipsplease · 03/06/2025 23:21

Rainy night in soho. The pogues

LittlePudding1 · 04/06/2025 00:00

You do something to me - Paul Weller. It was his choice I wanted U2 One. Divorced now anyway

tomorrowchild · 04/06/2025 00:10

Chasing cars-snow patrol.

Dazedandconfusedma · 04/06/2025 00:15

Love Cats by The Cure, 30 years married this year.

Only wedding I DJ'ed for had this as their first dance, they havent been married 30 years yet though! Its a good choice.

We had Depeche Mode - Never Let Me Down - first line is "I'm taking a ride with my best friend" - we both felt that way.

SandyY2K · 04/06/2025 00:56

"All my life" by KC and Jojo

CyanMaker · 04/06/2025 00:59

The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face by Roberta Flack

GlitteryRainbow · 04/06/2025 01:34

We didn’t have dancing as it was a very small wedding only 18 in total and DH doesn’t like dancing.

Don’t over think it. Pick a song you both like and go with it. It doesn’t have to be ‘weddingie’.

PuddyMuddles82 · 04/06/2025 02:32

Ellie Goulding how long will I love you
