So many of you say this stuff is amazing so my partner got us some to try. Soooo what's the best way to eat it? On toast with avocado, or straight out the pot with a ladle?!

If it's the one with chives in all you need is a spoon

Crikeyalmighty · 11/05/2025 19:23

@Sewaccidentprone £1.25 at Poundland - I clean em out!!

MercianQueen · 11/05/2025 19:29

I chop apples into wedges and dip them into it. You’re welcome ☺️

Gardendiary · 11/05/2025 19:30

Where did you find it?! I haven't seen any since last year when I was further north and they had it in Booths.

I add some prawns, Tabasco sauce, and chopped gherkins or cucumber, makes a lovely sandwich filling with lettuce, or I stuff a large tomato with it for a quick lunch.

Oh that is getting a try out..Thank you 😀

On oatcakes (M&S Scottish Oatcakes are best) with a bit of mango chutney.
Grills well, so on toast with thinly sliced cooked beetroot then grilled.
Mixed with tuna, spring onion and cucumber as a baked potato filling.
The extra creamy top bit is mine, all mine!

Magicmushroomsauce · 11/05/2025 19:41

I have it on toast with kimchi and a sprinkling of mixed seeds on the top. Delicious!

Sewaccidentprone · 11/05/2025 19:41

Searches for nearest poundland 🤗

Asda. Tesco didn't have any. I have never tried it before but it keeps getting mentioned on here very favourably!

It’s the only cottage cheese I like. I will eat it straight from the pot.

If I’m feeling ‘classy’, I pile some on to ryvita and sprinkle dried crushed chilli on top.

if I’m hungry, jacket potato, cottage cheese and coleslaw.

Quick and easy snack - small bowl of raw baby spinach, cottage cheese and a boiled egg

I tried the TikTok Tiffany plate of cottage cheese and American mustard squeezed on top with loads of raw veggies thst you dip in to the cottage cheese and mustard mix - that was surprisingly nice.

GloryDias · 11/05/2025 19:50

Morrisons sell it around here, best cottage cheese ever!

TheLimeQuail · 11/05/2025 19:51

I hope this trend ends soon. Its one of the few foods I will eat and it’s frequently sold out.

ZepherinDrouhin · 11/05/2025 19:53

Mixed into omelette mix and cooked on a low flame for longer so it's nice and gooey. Remember to add plenty of salt and black pepper to the mix. Absolutely gorgeous on toast.

Is the trend the Tiffany plate? Is that why all I can find in the supermarket is the cheap nasty watery/sloppy yukky imitation of cottage cheese that I refuse to give fridge room to?

My OH made the mistake once of buying g supermarket own brand - he’s learnt (and been converted)

They used to sell it in Home Bargains and was only £1.39

Then they stopped and I can’t find anywhere which sells it cheaper than £1.70 a pot.

I love it on sesame ryvita with baby toms. But also jacket potatoes, salads etc.

i buy the cheap own brand stuff to make the Jamie Oliver sweet potato muffins

I buy it from Iceland 3 for £5.

luckylavender · 11/05/2025 20:30

I love it. Reminds me of University, Manchester 80s where I discovered it in the corner shop.

CoastalCalm · 11/05/2025 20:59

Toast , honey cottage cheese and sea salt

RainbowZebraWarrior · 11/05/2025 21:02

Following with interest as I've heard it mentioned every time there's a thread about food. Finally put some on my Mum's Sainsbury's order for this week.

RootsBeforeTheFruits · 11/05/2025 21:11

I have it for breakfast most mornings on wholemeal toast and a chopped up pear on the side

BurntBroccoli · 11/05/2025 21:21

Jacket or toast or spooned straight into mouth 😋

PercyFredGeorge · 11/05/2025 21:21

In celery

Pedallleur · 11/05/2025 21:24

Crikeyalmighty · 11/05/2025 18:43

@nannyl where is it out of interest??

Holmfirth Yorkshire. But they get their milk for eg Jersey Cream from other suppliers. A farm near me that has Jersey cows supplies the company. The Jersey cream and butter are fantastic. As is Holmfirth with it's bakeries and Picturedrome.

MJMarch25 · 11/05/2025 21:26

With strawberries

Avocadosandlimes · 11/05/2025 21:28

You will never go back!! From the pot, on the side of a salad, jacket potato, any kind of cracker.. it’s the best. The chive one is supreme

soupyspoon · 11/05/2025 21:30

Its very difficult to find and I hope you have the full fat version

I love it straight out the pot, irresistible

But when I used to eat bread, smothered, piled high on hot buttered toast, and I mean BUTTERED, really thick with butter. Then lots of salt.
