Anyone worked for someone famous?

I’m working in a company for an influencer/z list celeb. She’s well known in a certain group of people and hangs around with some pretty famous faces. She has her own fashion company.

I don’t report into her, but work closely with her and she is an utter bitch. The way she comes across on social media is so…different. Her intern films her for content daily and she puts on such a smiley show. When the camera is off, she’s rude, demanding, bitches about everyone in the team, including members of the team that go above and beyond to make her business a success and make her happy…I could go on.

she contradicts herself constantly, making me feel like I’m going mad. I know if I died tmrw she wouldn’t care. She cares only about herself and her success. She’s not even nice about her husband, who is such a lovely guy.

I want to get out this company asap. It’s just difficult to know where to go and what to do next so in the meantime…has anyone else experienced similar?

I have lost all respect for this woman. She is awful and everyone that works for her knows it.

Bryan Ferry is apparently very hard work and grumpy, doesn't talk to anyone and when he does he's rude and snappy. So much for his suave, smooth persona.

Flowerpower70 · 25/04/2025 19:52

Has anyone worked for the band Muse? They seem lovely guys, so talented and just brilliant

BobbyBiscuits · 25/04/2025 19:53

Johnny Borell from Razorlight was an arsehole. It was before they were even that famous but he treated me like shite when I was working a venue they were using for a shoot.

I was told to drag an elderly, very heavy heater I used to keep myself warm under my desk up to the dressing room for him, (it was December and a non heated large ex theatre), he grunted at me.

Then told his manager to make a complaint to my boss, claiming I was being 'moody'. I was huffing and puffing from carrying a bloody oil heater up sixty stairs?! And froze for the rest of the day.
Moody is about fucking right, I was seething?!

The rest of the band were lovely. 🤣🫤

Gintime74 · 25/04/2025 19:54

I met Katie Hopkins through work and she was lovely. Nothing like i expected.
Quite anfew years ago i am sure there was an interesting thread about mr tumble!

dhfoody47 · 25/04/2025 20:01

King Charles & Camilla - absolutely lovely 👌

Noooooo. That's made me disproportionately sad.

Why is anyone surprised that this misogynistic arsewipe is a prick? He's very good friends with Neil Gaiman and won't speak out against him but happily and very publicly berates any woman who asks for single sex spaces.

A charity I worked for helped Matt Bellamy with an environmental project, I was very excited at the time 😆

CosyDenimShark · 25/04/2025 20:07

Not worked with anyone famous, but I've had both Sir David Attenborough & Stephen Mulhern in my workplace. Both were absolutely adorable.

My boyfriend worked with Martin Compston on an episode of Silent Witness and says he was lovely, they had a good chat and there's even a photo of them deep in conversation!

My friend's husband was sat next to Adrian Dunbar and Martin Compston at football match and said they couldn't have been nicer. Really chatty and friendly.

Smilingthroughtears · 25/04/2025 20:13

These are all just one off chats or meetings so don’t take into account if they are having a bad day.

Just lovely:
Bryan Adams
Tom Hanks
Ardal O’Hanlon
Craig David-that one surprised me
Steve Jones

Rude: Gary Linekar. Terry Pratchett and heard this from other people.

Difficult to work with: Nicky Campbell

Merryoldgoat · 25/04/2025 20:14

A friend worked at a famous London hotel.

She said Hugh Jackman was very nice and friendly to all staff.

Several had bonkers requirements - John Travolta wanted all natural light blocked from the room.

Kevin Spacey… well. Let’s say I was not surprised by the allegations when they came out.

A friend’s daughter was Margot Robbie’s PA. She is apparently the loveliest person. She is sent an awful lot of free stuff and gives it all to her staff.

I saw a video where Billie Eilish had to prank call celebs and ask if she could film a video in their house and Margot Robbie was bloody adorable. She was like "No because I'm packing up and moving but let me help you!" And went into full on problem solving pal mode. It made me really want to be friends with her.

Smilingthroughtears · 25/04/2025 20:15

Oh and Cliff Richard was very rude to a family member.

Lolalady · 25/04/2025 20:17

My late husband did some work for Eric Clapton who apparently is very eccentric!

@Lazlothevampire I loved reading that!

My husband knows someone who works closely with Robbie and all he’s ever heard is lovely things about him

Re Kevin Spacey - know someone who had first hand unwanted attention from him.

She is constantly advertising for grooms, that tells you she's not good to work for

She’s been dead years !!

Not worked for but I've used property belonging to Mike Oldfield.
I was hired to sing for someone (allegedly a love child of George Harrison) and we used Mike Oldfields studio to record the music.

George Harrison had a love child?! Give us a clue please!

But who is nice?

I think that most women I've met with and worked with are not nice. Most of them are competitive, selfish and nasty to other women. Especially to younger women.

It just seems to be how women are.

Wow…I’m so sorry that’s been your experience. While I’ve worked with some absolute bellends, male and female, most people I’ve worked with in the last 25 years have been lovely. I’ve been lucky to work with and learn from so many absolutely fantastic and inspiring women.

Helen1625 · 25/04/2025 20:29

I've heard from a work colleague that Judy Dench is quite rude and obnoxious.

Interested to hear if anyone has any stories about Lorraine Kelly (apologies if I've missed any in the comments) she's meant to be a bit of a diva. Wondering if anyone has experience of this?

It seems unimaginable that Judy Dench is unpleasant but I've heard an anecdote before in which she behaved this way :(

hot2G0000w · 25/04/2025 20:32

I work in film/TV with child actors, most of whom are lovely.

Dafne Keen from His Dark Materials is very sweary though, as is Roman Griffin Davies (from JoJo Rabbit) - he used to insist on calling one of the squares on the monopoly board Old C**T Road!

Nathanael Saleh from Game of Thrones was really lovely and Amir Wilson on His Dark Materials was very charming.

That was Jamie Foxx you’re talking about:

Best ever interview on SGN. Watch it so many times and laugh every time.

I knew the Queen. (QE2)

I fact, as a baby I actually... anyway I knew her.

Did you have swimming lessons with her?
