Anyone worked for someone famous?

I’m working in a company for an influencer/z list celeb. She’s well known in a certain group of people and hangs around with some pretty famous faces. She has her own fashion company.

I don’t report into her, but work closely with her and she is an utter bitch. The way she comes across on social media is so…different. Her intern films her for content daily and she puts on such a smiley show. When the camera is off, she’s rude, demanding, bitches about everyone in the team, including members of the team that go above and beyond to make her business a success and make her happy…I could go on.

she contradicts herself constantly, making me feel like I’m going mad. I know if I died tmrw she wouldn’t care. She cares only about herself and her success. She’s not even nice about her husband, who is such a lovely guy.

I want to get out this company asap. It’s just difficult to know where to go and what to do next so in the meantime…has anyone else experienced similar?

I have lost all respect for this woman. She is awful and everyone that works for her knows it.

She is constantly advertising for grooms, that tells you she's not good to work for

Presumably as in to look after horses - and not in an Elizabeth Taylor sense? Grin

I know someone who works for Paul Heaton (Beautiful South), and he's as normal and pleasant as you would expect.

On at least two occasions, he's celebrated his landmark birthdays by putting £1,000 behind the bar at the same number of ordinary pubs up and down the country as his years of age - and he hasn't made a big thing of it for publicity either.

Certainly doesn't seem like something that anybody other than a really nice, genuine person would even think of - much less actually do.

When I was about 13 My Dad hired John Noakes to absail down a building to open it.
He was absolutely awful and borderline inappropriate to me and my friend

I wish I had time as I have many experiences and my dad's stories are great and very interesting. This is a photo of my dad with Clint Eastwood and Richard Burton at a private birthday party for the man in the middle who worked on the set, it was his 21st birthday and they surprised him.

"Where the Eagles Dare" 1968. I love this movie!

Family member worked for Prince for some considerable time & said he was a bloody c*nt and b'stard. This family member doesn't normally say diddly squat about anyone. I met Prince's ex girlfriend, one of the Revolution and she was very nice as were her band.

The lovely Sinead O'Connor described a very nasty encounter with Prince in her autobiography. He sounds like he was a complete monster

Oh, that's really sad. John Noakes was my first crush and has pretty much shaped the, dark hair, strong nose look I go for and married 😔

Sorry, he also complained that people just wanted to ask him about "that bloody elephant"

I’m noticing a bit of a trend whereby well bred people seem to treat people well but footballers who tend to be from peasant stock, get all hoity toity when they get a bob or two…

Prince Harry excepted!

I know Dean Windass, a footballer from "peasant stock" and he's lovely

So weird because most of the many, many women I’ve known and worked with have been really nice.
maybe it says something about you, @Kellybonita

Yep agree with you. I'm a female boss, and am always delighted to find a new female employee.

Not to generalise as we are all different but I find women to be less likely to make errors as they generally just take more care.

Enjoy nothing more than building a woman up and watching her flourish.

You didn’t know what about Van Morrison @HarryVanderspeigle?

A few people on this thread have said there are two types of people. Those who like Van Morrison and those who have met him.

Naomi is vile. She used to stay in the same penthouse as P Diddy regularly at my place of work. She used to upset absolutely everyone for no good reason. I’m sure she’s from Croydon. Obviously has forgotten her roots

Lol, it’s probably because she’s from Croydon that she’s such a twat 😂

Yes, they filmed in Austria and Borehamwood, Clint Eastwood bought a motorbike in Austria and to get it out of the country tax free it had to have so many miles on the clock, so a few of the cast and crew used to ride it round the set during breaks, Clint is one of the nicest guys.

Someone always pops on a thread to say that, whenever anyone dares to mention that women can be cruel.

I'm 40 . I've worked in many different jobs. In many different places.

The women have been the same in every job. I've seen groups of women gang up on , amd bully some woman in every job I've been in.

The female managers have always been worse than the men.

In my opinion, the bad side of men is they can be physically and sexually destructive.

The bad side of women is that women can be emotionally destructive. You never see men isolate and bully a man in the workplace I've seen women do it so so so many times.

Having read your posts, it seems like you have issues. Of course, some women can be awful but really they are certainly not in the majority as you appear to suggest.

And men can also be just as awful as women.

Terrapinn · 25/04/2025 17:42

Kellybonita · 24/04/2025 15:56

No.

I just read the interview when he talked about his unbearable grief for his daughter. He said that he can't bear never seeing her again

And so I remember that he is struggling

Edited

And therefore shouldnt he consider that the shop assistant / waitress may well be holding a similiar invisible grief without access to services and money which can provide some comfort. He's not the only person in the world to grieve.

Popadomorbread · 25/04/2025 17:43

I wasn’t employed by celebrities but worked in a setting where they regularly visited to work. Patrick Stewart lovely man, Sean Bean even lovelier, Sam Neil was a delight, Ruth Jones was so down to earth and friendly.
Met most of the royals and quite a few politicians too. David Cameron was lovely (even though I despise his political stance), Prince Charles (as he was then was very personal, her late majesty the Queen shook hands and thanked us all, Prince Andrew was so rude to everyone, arrogant twat!

Biggest diva and bitch of them all was Katherine Jenkins, really thought she was someone special, made so many demands, we were informed not to make eye contact, speak to her or cross her path and she was so demanding. Rude. Rude. Rude.

RavenhairedRachel · 25/04/2025 17:45

I haven't personally worked for someone famous. My best friend from primary school was the nanny for the snooker player Alex Higgins kids. Even though I've not worked for anyone famous I worked as a funeral director for many years and did a few famous people's funerals.

Annaruthb · 25/04/2025 17:46

I've bought and sold property for a few of famous clients. Very famous comedian lovely and shy. Famous 90s pop star absolute bitch. Snapped her fingers at my PA!!! Premier football player with a playboy rep quite sweet and not at all as he is portrayed.

Coconuthotchocolate · 25/04/2025 17:48

I know and have worked with a lot of footballers. As in life some are nice, some are vile and some are so up themselves you can’t describe them.

managers who are legends like Alex Ferguson are lovely and still down to earth as per their roots. The newer breed just seem to believe their own publicity and can be the biggest twats going

MixedBananas · 25/04/2025 17:51

Is that Molly Mae?

He's been known to turn around - on stage at live gigs - and just stand there reading his newspaper with his back to the audience during instrumental interludes!!

One of the only gigs I’ve ever walked out of was him 😂 Such a miserable stage presence. The atmosphere was shite

Schoolsec · 25/04/2025 18:01

Have met David Beckham and Jake Wood (Max in Eastenders). Both absolutely delightful 😊

Loveandstuff · 25/04/2025 18:11

I have a tenuous family link to Kirstie Allsopp. She is a self-interested moron whose sole interest is money and she’d take sweets from a child. Honestly…the stories…awful.

QuiteUnbelievable · 25/04/2025 18:11

I wasn't commenting on the reason he was cancelled- more the loss of an outstanding historian generally.

So maybe step down from that high horse.

Maybe stop saying a vile racist is outstanding. Some things are unforgivable

ZestyJoey · 25/04/2025 18:13

I once worked on Leonardo DiCaprios yacht. He's a fairly nice guy (never spoke to me, but he's nice to his friends) only bad thing about him is he's not too keen on washing unless he's making some sort of public appearance... Im really curious as to who this influencer is that OP is talking about, she must be kind of a big deal to have a team working for her right? If you can't say who it is can you at least say how old she is? If I had to bend over backwards for a snobby lil 18 year old I'd go insane.
