Dh’s friend was 49 when she had her child.

Just wondered what age you know of for people to have their first, conceived without help.

Me. I conceived naturally, when not actually trying, at 44y5months. ds born healthy, full term when I was 45y2m.

Easy pregnancy, no problems, no nausea, which meant I didn't realise for a few weeks. Natural birth at 40+6, ds exactly 50th percentile.

I feel like 42 is quite a late but not that unusual age to have a first baby. I know 3 women who had first babies at that age, and my circle isn’t massive.

The oldest woman I know to have a baby using own eggs and husband’s sperm without intervention is 49 - albeit baby number 8. She went in to hospital because of ‘women’s issues’ expecting a hysterectomy and was sent home because in 9 weeks she’d be having a full term infant. This wasn’t it a western country though.

I sincerely hope I’d never fall at 49, but much to my disgust I’m still having very regular periods. I imagine the eggs are 90% defunct though. I’d be horrified! Off to book my coil replacement for later this month ;)

My mum was nearly 47 when she had me. She didn't know I was coming until 6 weeks before I was born because the doctor told her I was the menopause.

My grandma had my uncle at 47. He was her 5th child.

Several people haven't understood the question. FIRST baby.
