What’s the oldest person you know to have their first baby conceived naturally?

Dh’s friend was 49 when she had her child.

Just wondered what age you know of for people to have their first, conceived without help.

First baby - my Mum. Had me at 44 after years of infertility.

Me - just shy of 45. Very unexpected but happy surprise.

Tonnes of women have their 4th/5th/6th in their late 40s, it’s no big deal.

43 for 1st baby. My aunt.

A friend of mine had her first (and I think likely to be only) child at 45.

45, first child. Perfectly healthy.

What’s the oldest person you know to have their first baby conceived naturally?

Me - 40.

But sadly had a miscarriage at 38. Both pregnancies were natural.

(My grandmother apparently was 39 when she had her last baby - my mum). So maybe ‘older mums’ runs in my family!

Someone I worked with his wife was 49, thought it was the menopause.

I also got pregnant at 44, had ds when I was nearly 38, tried for 6 years for another but it never happened other than a couple of chemical pregnancies, split from my husband & got pregnant within 6 weeks with my new partner. Sadly lost her at 16 weeks, nothing to do with the actual pregnancy, autoimmune factors caused the loss.

My friend was 46 when she had her one and only and it still blows my mind that she is still dealing with young kid stuff when I"m an empty nester!

I used to take my DCs to a baby and toddler group when they were little. Struck up a friendship with a woman who was always there with two kids similar age to mine. I immediately assumed she was their grandma or a nanny…..but no. She’d had the first one naturally at 44 followed quickly by the second when she was 45!

I know two women who were 45 when they had their first (and last!) babies. This was about 24 years ago.

Who is giving ivf to someone that old…madness

45 a friend of mine, gave birth aged 46. I know it was natural as she called me in shock when she found out.

Some school/toddler group mums might be older, but I don't know them well enough to know exact age and whether ivf was involved. I was 42 when I had dc3 (no fertility help needed) and I feel like I'm at the higher end of average age at toddler groups (north London).

Dd's paternal Great GM had her youngest child at 45 in the 1950s. (I never knew her though)
