As title said a rare trip to M&S food for me this afternoon as I don’t often pass one…

We have a nice evening without teenagers this weekend and would love to grab a few treats to enjoy for meals and snacks to enjoy.

Already know that I want some of their lovely butter with smoked salt and a good sour dough, what else would you recommend?

I’d be interested too. I have a parcel to pick up at M&S foods, so will try and get something for the weekend.

The custard choux buns, Cornish cove cheddar

Beaverbridge · 07/03/2025 13:57

Chocolate custard creams please!

MidnightPatrol · 07/03/2025 13:58

They do some nice pre-prepared salads eg super green, which are healthy and tasty (and easy).

All of their olives are great and their chocolate is great value - very good quality for what you pay. Most of what you buy will be better quality than the equivalent elsewhere - e.g. their salami, smoked salmon etc will be nicer than the Tesco Finest or Sainsbury's Taste the Difference version. Even their bourbons are in a different league - more cream filling, more chocolatey tasting, not dry and dusty.

Do they do honey roast cashews? I'll have those please.

VivaLaSpag · 07/03/2025 14:05

Hazelnut wafer mini rolls. At least 6 bags.

TomatoSandwiches · 07/03/2025 14:07

I get those little trays of mixed cheeses and some crackers and the jar of red pickled onions 😋 maybe an additional delice de bourgogne and a pack of mini colin the catapillars.

I’ve just been to M&S (actually the only place we food shop generally), my family requested in group text - chilli crispy beef, duck pancakes, prawn toasts, salt and pepper chicken, fully loaded chicken shawarma, cheese coleslaw, pesto pasta salad, mackerel pate, those white unripe looking strawberries that are actually perfection, cotton candy grapes.

mbosnz · 07/03/2025 14:09

They do a gorgeous pastrami. And mini fruity cupcakes that are to die for!

Deathraystare · 07/03/2025 14:10

If I was going all out I would get the Cornish Cruncher cheese and Colin Caterpillar vegan sweets (non gelatine) plus the extremely chocolately sweets. I haven't been there for a long time so don't really know what other goodies to get. I do like the vegan Colin stuff though!.

Maybe not a treat, but it’s the only place I can find full fat cottage cheese with pineapple in it.

RabbitsRock · 07/03/2025 14:13

I like their milk chocolate discs in a tube.

FatherFrosty · 07/03/2025 14:13

I’m trying to avoid them due to them advertising on gb news.

Also the tubs of rocky road.

The Mexican or Indian layered dip. Buy them both actually! You will not regret it.
