As title said a rare trip to M&S food for me this afternoon as I don’t often pass one…

We have a nice evening without teenagers this weekend and would love to grab a few treats to enjoy for meals and snacks to enjoy.

Already know that I want some of their lovely butter with smoked salt and a good sour dough, what else would you recommend?

I like their milk chocolate discs in a tube.

I was tucking into some when I read your comment 😁. I love them. I always try to convince myself that they are ideal, as I can have a few at a time, but it never works out like that! I love popping them in my mouth, then snapping them in half 😊.

Maybe not a treat, but it’s the only place I can find full fat cottage cheese with pineapple in it.

Booths sell this if you’re ever up north

Thanks. Not familiar with Booths. I’m in Scotland.

I honestly think these types of threads are generated by the company!

I agree. Especially since this is not the first M&S food add thread.

A lot of their food is pretty bland or average.

The “Best ever Lasagna/Chicken curry” are very good as is the antipasti & the small tubs of dips/ploughman’s oh & the pickled onions in balsamic are really tasty they also have a good range of pizzas the French boule loaf is lovely & very good selection of cheeses/butter, majority of the dessert & sweet stuff is great.

Mudkipper · 07/03/2025 15:10

Whitby buns please. Also fizzy wine.

paulyispoorly · 07/03/2025 15:13

I love the Somerset maple butter 😍

Toddlerteaplease · 07/03/2025 15:36

Chocolate hot cross buns!

Chocolate custard creams please!

Wow, do they do these. I've only ever seen them in the big boxes of biscuits we get for work.

HomeCountyHome · 07/03/2025 15:38

Gastropub Lasagne, triple cooked chips and whatever the green veg is that they have on the shelf.

coolmum123 · 07/03/2025 15:46

Blimey, looks like you will be buying out the whole shop lol!
we got given a box of chocolate biscuits (the tin has a peacock on the front) they were lush. Also tgeir Belgian chocolate truffles, honey and mustard pretzels

Vroomfondleswaistcoat · 07/03/2025 15:46

I second their butter chicken. Loads of chicken, terrific sauce, yum. My only complaint is how many things they coat in dark chocolate! I'm allergic (it makes me vomit violently and brings on migraines), so I need really pale milk chocolate or blonde or white chocolate and I want MORE THINGS COVERED IN THIS!

Ahem. As you were. But definitely the butter chicken.

Ooo so many lovely snack bits..

What about meal ideas?

The 'Our Best Ever' Beef Lasagne is one of the nicest we've ever had. Highly recommended. In terms of sweet treats, the Salted Caramel Milk Chocolate bar is delicious. Full of runny salted caramel! You've actually inspired me to pop into my local M&S food when I finish work in half an hour to do the same! :)

Fibrous · 07/03/2025 15:48

The frozen pastries are good. And I love the chicken kyev gastropub things.

TianasBayou · 07/03/2025 15:49

I'd get the Sunday roast meal deal if they have it this week. A massive Oakham chicken and sides and gravy.

And cheesy hot cross buns.

Bestevercatmum · 07/03/2025 15:52

Lemon curd iced buns - amazing 😋

ByQuaintAzureWasp · 07/03/2025 15:53

Florentines and chocolate eclairs

TrobadoraBeatrice · 07/03/2025 15:57

Cheese hot cross buns, the Mexican layered dip, big tub of cashew nuts, and the Eccles cakes from the fresh bakery section, all delicious. And St Agur spreadable if you're not already familiar with it, and the Helles beer made for them by Harbour. Oh and if they have the freezer of garlic bread made with their leftover loaves, they are also great!

WingBingo · 07/03/2025 16:08

Chicken Caesar Dip. All of their dips, in fact.

Drfosters · 07/03/2025 16:08

Instead of takeout We like to buy the nibbly bits 3 for £8 I think. We all choose 3 each, get a baguette and then eat them in front of tv. I like the mozzarella balls and pesto and the turmeric cauliflower! Yum

it's much better than the other supermarkets tbh. obviously not as good as local bakeries etc.

HopingForRainbow2021 · 07/03/2025 16:13

They do bags of mini walnut whips! They’re yummy

dontcallmelen · 07/03/2025 16:14

The mountain bar which is a dupe of toblerone is really good
