Zelensky - feeling quite sad

I know that there are several threads about him, but I’ve watched the interview again today.
I don’t know what’s made me feel more sad - how exhausted and disappointed he looked, the fact that English isn’t his first language and it must have been hard to speak, let alone speak whilst being verbally attacked, or the suit question.
When the war is over, I want to buy that man the best suit money can buy!
How can anyone kick someone when they are so down anyway.

The US promised to support Ukraine to secure its borders in exchange for them removing their massive nuclear weapons programme. It was a deal. Now Trump is making it as if they should be so grateful. Gaslighting. Zelensky's predecessor shouldn't have agreed to remove the weapons programme but that's hindsight for you. They've been trampled on.

Oh, stop your Kremlin propaganda. Nobody is sending loved ones to fight. Sir Kier made it clear that European troops will be stationed in Ukraine AFTER the peace treaty has been signed. Since you are of the belief that signing the treaty will stop people dying they will be safe, won’t they?
Or maybe you don’t believe that Putin has any intention of honouring the treaty, but he should be given what he wants anyway.

I don't think you watched the same footage that the other 7.8billion people in the world watched.

Zelensky was setup by a Russian puppet trying to torpedo Ukraine's defence against Russia & raping Ukraine in a totally one sided minerals deal, all at the same time.

Russia has about 6 months of armour left, it's lost tens of thousands of tanks, APCs and IFVs, and can't replace them. It's sending troops into battle on crutches & donkeys as it is. Trump was trying to get Ukraine to fold ASAP & failed badly.

If Trump & Vance miraculously fall out of a window in the near future, you'll know why.

Zelensky not wearing a suit to a meeting with the King was always going to attract commentary, but the symbolism of his trademark informal shirt shot up following the spat in the Oval Office on Friday.
Donald Trump – who had referred to himself as king, external on social media days earlier - appeared to have an issue with it, and one conservative US reporter present at the tempestuous meeting accused the Ukrainian president of “not respecting the dignity of this office”.
Looks like King Charles has no such problems with Zelensky’s attire.

Great to see decent Americans out and protesting their frankly insane leaders. I feel for them - as I said no matter how bad it is from the UK, it must be ten times worse living under him.

I think the difference is @noblegiraffe, is that we’ve seen it with our own eyes. Reading about him and seeing him in action, are two different things. That’s what made Friday shocking.

No worries. I saw the Guardian piece earlier, so I figured these links were saying the same thing. I have a VPN on my computer so I can access news from the States. It is interesting seeing the Trump spin on Fox, vs the reportage in the NY Times.

There is increasing press censorship in the States for sure, and of course, Trump won’t let the Associated Press into the White House press briefings
