Should anyone want to watch the worst film ever made and/or deliberately waste an hour of their lives....

....then it has just started on Film 4.

Enemy Mine. About an astronaut and a male alien who collide in space and crash land on a planet. The male alien turns out to be pregnant and they co-exist on some hostile planet or other.

Really shite.

Granted I haven't seen Three Amigos since I was a child but fond memories

My son loved that film as a child and he and his friends would do all the arm actions!

Only film I have ever walked out during was Avatar, jeez that was dull and slow. Also agree with Meet Joe Black, we were laughing at him getting run over, bouncing around like a tennis ball

Downsizing.

Never ending ridiculousness. I'm a Matt Damon fan but this movie should never have happened. Hated it.

Oh gosh yes this was terrible.

Idea sounded good and first part was okay ish but then it just went downhill fast.

Currently watching Groundhog Day, which I can confirm is still great!

I almost chose that as my worst ever film. That and the apparently much loved Field of Dreams. Like watching paint dry!!

I love FOD. My old boss had to shield during lockdown. I sent him lots of film suggestions... After watching FOD he wasn't impressed.

Elderflower14 · 02/03/2025 12:27

I saw the live action Pinocchio with ds2 a couple of years ago... Beyond horrendous... The donkey gets hung!!!! 🙄 🙄 🙄

Gingernaut · 02/03/2025 12:29

I actually paid money to see this

Directed by Peter Jackson, no less

Meet Joe Black was redeemed by the comedy value of Brad Pitt's Patois, when he meets an old lady dying in the hospital

Yes. And that's the one where Nicole Kidman allowed herself to be shown using the toilet. (Or maybe that hadn't happened when you left.)
Always hate that sort of scene. It's so personal and I'm sure men get off on it. Actresses should be more concerned.
Which reminds me of another AWFUL film which I think was called "Final Cut", where a camera had supposedly been set up in a bathroom. And a girl... well you can guess...

SHARKNADO !!!

You're all amateurs.

I offer you Robin Hood, Men in Tights, which we walked out of (so disappointing as l love most of Mel Brooks' work).

We watched Robin Hood, Prince Of Thieves this weekend and DS was transfixed by its awfulness. Only Alan Rickman seemed to know he was in a panto.

I confess I have a soft spot (against my better judgement) for RH Prince of Thieves.

Eyes wide shut. Actually left the cinema half way through.

one of my favourite films.

one of my favourite films.

I hated it, but did manage to stay. Just about!

This might be an unpopular opinion, but I hated Vanilla Sky too, and was absolutely terrified. We stayed for the whole film, but I buried my head in DH's shoulder for a lot of it. It did set out to shock.

Me too, daft as it is. But DS was laughing his backside off - especially the crazy wigs and general hokey stuff at the start in the Jerusalem prison.

HRTQueen · 02/03/2025 16:08

La La Land it’s was painfully boring

Birdman was it meant to be pretentious I don’t know it was just boring

Lost in Translation 😴

Talonz · 02/03/2025 17:50

Oh, I have just remembered 'Seeing Double' the S Club 7 film.

I even had to stand up and dance part way through to keep the kids happy.

Sorry arriving late to this thread but seriously everyone - Snakes on a Plane…

Staying Alive - the sequel to Saturday Night Fever. Tony decides he wants to make it as a professional dancer but without the awesome soundtrack. Sylvester Stallone directed it which probably tells you everything you need to know.

Edited

Oh, now this is one of my guilty pleasures, if only for the incredibly camp dance scenes that are supposed to be sexy and menacing. If I can get this and Nutcracker (the one with Joan Collins) in one evening, I'm in heaven.

There's a film that I think I'm the only person in the world to have seen called The Tit and the Moon where a man has erectile problems so instead of blowjobs his wife seductively eats a baguette from between his legs. And then they split up and there's a scene where she ceremonially buries a baguette at the beach.

30 years since I saw it and I still resent every minute.

I’m sure I’ve seen that one too, as a student in Spain. It was an era of weird slightly sexualised European films. Worst by far is beau is afraid. What an absolute pile of tosh/wabk/rubbish. 3 hours of my life I will never get back. Honestly I’m still fuming about it now..

The only film I’ve ever walked out of - Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein. Utter guff.

lol 😂 I really liked this!
