....then it has just started on Film 4.

Enemy Mine. About an astronaut and a male alien who collide in space and crash land on a planet. The male alien turns out to be pregnant and they co-exist on some hostile planet or other.

Really shite.

Koyaanisqatsi
Das Boot
Forest Gump

lol 😂 And I HATE the ‘life is like a box of chocolates’ line!

In the book (by Winston Groom) the line is "being stupid is no box of chocolates."

He probably knows that boxes of chocolate come with a little map so you know exactly what you're going to get.

I remember Koyaanisqatsi.

It had some music by Philip Glass and was a montage of human life and the natural world and some chanter in the background.

Raise you Blue by Derek Jarman. A narrative with a blue screen that never changes.

50 Shades of Grey. 20 minutes in, I'm out.

I agree and couldn’t even do 20 minutes. I just thought it was lego movie attempts erotic I think its because the Lego trailer had a guy with moving legs and arms too but more charisma.

Oh, now this is one of my guilty pleasures, if only for the incredibly camp dance scenes that are supposed to be sexy and menacing. If I can get this and Nutcracker (the one with Joan Collins) in one evening, I'm in heaven.

Thank you for this I just watched the Trailer for Nutcracker

Friendofdennis · 03/03/2025 02:03

I hated The Shack. Many people raved about the film and the book. Perhaps I missed the point but I hated the fact that it focuses on the father’s devestation about the abduction of his daughter and completely plays down the response of the mother. And I also hate the fact that it tries to find meaning in the meaningless

I raise you showgirls from the 1990s

Zardoz, starring Sean Connery.

Agree on Benjamin Button but love Meet Joe Black. Love the music and Anthony Hopkins is fantastic.

I loved Benjamin Button! I watched it twice. 😀. It’s fascinating reading about how people can absolutely loathe or absolutely love the same film.

Tbh that makes more sense than the film version.

Inwardly screaming laughing. Was it a gay porn film? 🤣

I'm getting the costume designer hated Connery 😁

Zardoz - of course! The floating rock head that spews out rifles to the crowds.

I love Zardoz! Such camp fun 😁I agree with many of the films suggested (Pretty Women & Forrest Gump particularly come to mind). But I will never accept there is a worse film than Sex & the City 2 & will die on this hill Grin

PoltergeistsStartLowKey · 03/03/2025 07:41

I'm not into TV and films but that film with the animated sex mad teddy bear was the fricken pits. Four minutes of that shite was enough.

I look at this film still and Frankie Goes To Hollywood's "Relax" is coursing its way through my brain.

Ted? Very crass film, but funny in its own way.

The only film I’ve ever walked out of - Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein. Utter guff.

I walked out of this too. And I love Kenneth Branagh.

I saw a clip on Instagram of a film called The Room, made in 2003, which was supposed to be one of the worst films ever made. It looks absolutely dire.

I was laughing so much at the clip that I want to watch it now, just for the ridiculousness of it.

PorkHollywood · 03/03/2025 08:54

Rubber

Or if you want really bad

Clownado

And yes I sat through both

I honestly didn't think anyone else had ever watched Rubber. That was an experience.

Birdemic (the trilogy) should probably be on your watch list.

Lost in translation

It looks like a Second City/SCTV spoof. Sooooo bad.
