Just thinking of all the thousands of things in the supermarket, and I end up chucking the same things in my online shop every week just out of habit. So there must be things other people chuck in that I never do! I promise to add some of them to my shop this week and try them!

Don’t worry, I was just about to lower the tone Grin

Prunes, tons of prunes! My bowel is still on strike 9 weeks post C-section so I need a little help.

Take a small shot of mineral oil with and orange slice. Shoot the mineral oil and bite the orange to get rid of the taste. I was about the same and started to vomit when my friend gave me this. It worked within 2 hours. Good luck. It’s not a good feeling.

You're going to laugh at this ... I put a load of your suggestions onto my online grocery shop the other night and only just realised I never went back to add our actual meals... I have no idea what's arriving this morning but it's going to be the most random shop ever.... 🤦‍♀️

I've got frozen parathas, mockingbird juice, jam mallows, chicken sausages and stuffed vine leaves. That's basically it. I did remember milk GrinGrinGrin

NippyNinjaCrab · 01/03/2025 16:51

Loving this thread. I buy and eat mostly the same thing all the time unless DH is home.
Aldi skin on fries are the best!
Fage 5% yoghurt
Honey
Blueberries, raspberries and strawberries when they are in season
Bananas, grapes and tangerines.
Pitted dates, I only like the Mejool ones from Morrisons.
Dr Zvarg seeded protein crackers
Philli cheese
Cooked meats
Salmon fillets
Chicken breast fillets
Mince from the butchers
Protein noodles
Protein shakes, mixed flavours but normally chocolate, strawberry.
When DH is home he cooks a lot of curries the shopping list is large haha.

JeffGoldplum · 01/03/2025 16:55

Waitrose spicy Ajvar, pink Maldon salt (for grinder), dried orrechiete, cinnamon fruit loaf - like hot cross buns except in sliced bread form to fit in the toaster.

Allatonce2024 · 01/03/2025 16:55

English muffins
Fruit teacakes

Protein noodles? What are they made of and where do you find them please?

2025willbemytime · 01/03/2025 17:37

Chilli flakes.
Fruited tea cakes.

More posting for everyone else's ideas and just normal stuff as why not.

Those of you using frozen veg in meals eg in cottage pie. Do you cook the veg separately then add it to the meal, or do you just chuck it in frozen?
I've always disliked the texture of frozen veg, but I might have been doing it wrong since so many of you use it.

Chuck it in frozen here. Same with frozen blueberries or cherries for a pie.

They are at the stir fry section, I like Morrisons and Tesco the best, it's the same as egg noodles but with added protein. They are firmer, x

mathanxiety · 01/03/2025 17:47

Smoked fish (not weekly but maybe six times a year).
Herring in wine sauce in little jars (3-4 times a year).
Sardines - monthly.
Ryvita or Wasa rye or sourdough crackers.
Cabbage - very versatile veg.
Frozen fruit - nice for snacking, very little waste.
Olives - for snacking or adding to dishes, no waste.
Slivered almonds - snacking and baking.
Sourdough bread.
