People liking your posts?

Last year, I noticed that 1 user, was liking (with the emoji) nearly every post I commented on. They often didn't make any comments within the thread and it felt like they'd gone through my history and liked every comment I made!

MNHQ looked into it, but said it was a genuine user who maybe just 'liked' lots of posts! I name changed, and now the same person is doing it again!

Does anyone else notice 'likes' from the same person/people on all their posts? Do you, yourself, do this and like every post someone makes? If so- why?

Yes I've noticed particular posters liking my posts.
I change my user name very often but there are still some posters who often like my posts , particularly on certain subjects, whatever user name I use

I've always assumed that its just that they share a certain view point with me and that they probably " like" posts by the other posters who express similar opinions.

I do do this, but only if I agree with what's been posted, I don't do it on every comment. I just like to acknowledge someones response, if it's the same as I was thinking? To me it saves repeating what's already been said, especially if it's basically the same as I was going to post.
What pisses me off more than this, is people not RTFT, then repeating exactly what others have said! I know some are pages long by the time you get to them, I appreciate that. But if you're going to the trouble of commenting, then at least make sure you aren't posting exactly the same as the previous 200 and odd comments!

The most annoying thing is when people click the LOLing emoji to be mocking and sarcastic. That's nasty.

But yeah, it is a bit odd for randoms like every post you put on. Doesn't happen to me.

Although when I like posts, to be fair I can only recall a couple of user names! So I'd say it's someone who deliberately follows you!

That sounds a bit odd. I don’t pay any attention to usernames so wouldn’t have a clue if the same person was liking multiple posts.

Hope its not me. I don't look at the user name when I press agree or thanks or even funny. I just react to the post.

I don't look at usernames, or the the emojis hardly ever, not do I go back and look at comments I made. It would pass me by

There's one person who 'likes' my post very often. It's nice. I assume that either we are like-minded on a number of subjects, or she automatically 'likes' quite a lot of posts, to show she has read them and taken note.

I barely notice when people have liked or otherwise responded to my posts. Every now and then I get an email telling me X number of people have reacted, but I rarely look at the totals, and I almost never go to look and find out which posters have done so.

I speed read threads and will like loads of posts. Saves me replying just to basically say "I agree"

I use the app where currently you can't see likes. Do most people view MN on a browser?

Yes, I have certain posters who very frequently "like" my posts, even if I have name changed.

I just assume that they tend to share similar values to mine and therefore agree with lots of my posts. I often think we might be good friends if we met IRL.

Or else they are just very generous with their "likes".

It has never occurred to me that they might be stalking me!😂

OP, they probably just agree with you more often than not.

Sometimes I'll read 300 post thread and just randomly agree or thank about five posts. I don't tend to read poster names, it is possible all posts are by one poster, so I could inadvertently be acting a bit stalkerish.

Were you posting in a variety of topics or only in a few ones?

I’ve never once looked to see the username if my post is liked.

I like posts when I agree with the poster occasionally.
I don't look at the username, feel a bit paranoid now in case I've liked the same poster more than once 😂

I have no idea if my posts get liked or not as that would involve me scrolling back specifically to check. I don't have time for that.
