Happy mother's day everyone, unfortunately news feels like doom and gloom.

Sorry I just feel we are back in COVID times and it's all hopeless. I was reading school weekly and it looks like school having to make huge cuts and most of education.

Parsley1234 · 31/03/2025 08:50

Wonderful photo, nuthatch. At first I thought it was a cow, and then I spotted the antlers.

Parsley1234 · 31/03/2025 13:14

I love that picture ❤️

Parsley1234 · 01/04/2025 07:30

@twistyizzy good luck today I presume you’re going to London ❤️ does Reeves have to be there ?

@twistyizzy good luck today I presume you’re going to London ❤️ does Reeves have to be there ?

Unfortunately I can't make it but we will have representatives. I'm not expecting either RR or BP to be there. BP hasn't yet attended 1 of the parliamentary debates about it, she avoids them because she simply can't justify it and is incapable of defending the policy past the 2 lines on a pre-written statement which she just parrots ad nauseum.
Thank you for the best wishes ❤️ whatever the outcome, the fight doesn't end here!

Parsley1234 · 01/04/2025 07:54

@twistyizzy theycare all such parrots
for I hear further and faster one more time I mean who even wrote that line and who even thought it was a good idea bloody imbeciles

TheNuthatch · 01/04/2025 08:17

Best of luck to all those involved today.

It's shocking that BP hasn't attended any debates. If it's a good policy, the minister should be able and willing to defend it.

The repeated lines are so tedious. Listening to Labour make excuses is maddening.

I missed an event was happening today, good luck to those involved.

TheNuthatch · 01/04/2025 09:33

All of our bills go up today. Yey thank you Labour. Energy, council tax, water, car tax, the list goes on. CAB confirming that today's hikes will obviously hit the least well off hardest.

How can they say (with a straight face) that we'll all be £500 better off under this government?

Also this week, NI hike for business, and tarrif day. Oh, and we still have an ex trainee solicitor as business minister. Fabulous.

@TheNuthatch i mean a joke right why is he still being listened to why ?!?!

TheNuthatch · 01/04/2025 11:04

Putin has ordered the largest conscription since the war began. 160 000 men aged 18-30, to be completed by 15th July according to Interfax.

How big is Starmer's 'reassurance force' again?

Terrifying @TheNuthatch

Hopefully Starmer will quietly tuck that idea down the back of the sofa

All that global stage posturing might have felt good for him, and his polls but it’s come to nowt or damaging

No trade deal, no security guarantee just convincing Z not to sign the earlier better deal, summits and photo ops, so much hot air.

Couldn't agree more.

Hopefully Macron will back down too, seeing as they've taken Le Penn out at the knees.

Of course Starmer wasn’t going to get a trade deal he’s a total bellend who does he think he us it needed someone very experienced with Trumpy sadly we don’t have that !

TheNuthatch · 01/04/2025 11:34

John Bolton has advised Starmer to start playing golf if he wants to deal with Trump. As the Finnish PM did recently.
Brought back memories of a story last year. Starmer was the first PM to reject membership of the golf club linked to Chequers estate.

Further and faster is such meaningless nonsense. I can totally see why it sets your teeth on edge. My own catalyst to shouting at the telly is reserved for...promises made, promises kept.

Parsley1234 · 01/04/2025 12:53

@Upstartled primuses made to fuck everything up royally 🤣🤣🤣🤣

EasternStandard · 01/04/2025 12:59

I’ll add

I’ll add ‘Inherited’ from every Labour MP, and a difficult decisions. There’s more I’m sure

I had to change radio as Starmer trying to say how better off we’d be with rising bills is too much and beyond mere swearing in response

Upstartled · 01/04/2025 13:04

Better off! Our council tax is up 5%, energy up 6% and the water bill is up 21%. Not feeling the extra money Keir. That's before you get to the stalled tax thresholds.

Upstartled · 01/04/2025 13:09

Oh and food inflation is rising again. 3.5% now. Apparently the cost of eggs is up 20% since January and, brace for it, Easter eggs are up 50% 🤣.
