Ways to not buy American

I know the obvious brands that are fast food, fizzy drinks etc but I'm not sure about the overarching companies that are American owned and brands that I might miss.
It might be a small and solo protest but I'm determined.

Wallmart now only own 10% of ASDA and no (or most) of ASDA own brands are made in the UK. Any company that is listed on the stock market has a very grey "Ownership" details as it's really hard to know how much is owned by who.

Is there an alternative to visa or Mastercard? That isn’t American?

I don't think so although I have heard the EU are working on creating an alternative. If you want to limit above systems, it's cash or direct bank transfers. Although not sure if latter avoids them.
