I feel sorry for him. He’s going to lose his job at this rate, as management seem to be seeking her out to apologise.

Could he have worded it better? Absolutely.

Is she right to demand to ride in his car when he says she won’t fit and will damage his car? No!

Theres XL lyft for this exact reason

People Back Driver Who Refused To Let Plus-Size Woman In His Car As She Sues Lyft: “Common Sense”

“I've been in cars smaller than that ... It hurt my feelings,” said the woman after the Lyft driver refused to let her enter his Mercedes-Benz.

I think my comment is being misinterpreted 😩😩😩

I don't think he should've refused her entry! If she wore black, she'd look smaller and like a lot of Americans. Her outfit makes her look bigger as well

There are lots of big Americans, I dont think that they deserve to be picked on

I think the driver saw an opportunity to pick on someone and took it. I don't think she would've harmed his car, but i imagine she wouldn't have been able to use the seat belt

Why shes going public with this I don't know tbh but i don't think it's okay to discriminate against someone - unless she literally couldn't fit in the car, she shouldn't have been refused

Ridiculous to say she is like a lot of Americans.
She is morbidly obese, and the taxi driver had every right to refuse her.

Even (and it's doubtful) she could actually get in the car, it's highly likely the seatbelt would not fit her.
Whist it's not the law to wear a seatbelt in this state, it is the company rule that passengers do so. She would have been placing the driver in a dangerous position in the event of a crash.

The Lyft company should have backed this driver.
If they or the driver are taken to court, Lyft have already capitulated and sacked the driver, who has been the victim of a publicity hungry exploiter, imo.

And 3 people can easily ride in the back of a car. He was a prick.

What make of car was he driving?

justasking111 · 01/02/2025 14:39

I watched the morbidly obese b Americans disembark from a cruise ship in Bermuda, they were on segways because they couldn't walk anywhere

And three people in the back of a licensed cab can fit into their seat belts, she couldn't.

No surprise there.

Exactly!

I can't believe someone can't tell the difference between 3 average sized 150 to 160 pound grown adults in a back seat, and one massive 500 pound woman sat in one place. It's about the displacement of the weight. The taxi driver's suspension would have gone on his taxi if he'd had this woman in his car! He had every right to say no to her.

And as has been said, she is just a failed self-professed 'rapper' who is desperate for attention and publicity. Pathetic!

Please. It’s the USA. No one wears seat belts in cabs. And I have yet to meet an Uber or Lyft driver who gives a shit whether or Jo a back seat passenger does or not.

It's the law in most states.
Not in this one, but the taxi company can refuse anyone who does not comply to their conditions, one of which is for back seat passengers to wear a seat belt.

Binglebong · 01/02/2025 15:14

Completely ignoring the weight element could she physically fit in? If she was in the front then any overhang* would get in the way of central controls in the car. In the back there is generally less leg room and I honestly don't know if her girth would be too big in the space. Certainly a seatbelt would not fit and that is generally a good indication of how big a person the car is considered safe for.

*bad choice of word but brain fog

The seatbelt problem was naff-all to do with any of this. The taxi driver wouldn't allow this woman into his car because she is super-morbidly-obese, and would have very likely have damaged his car. She weighs 500 pounds! A quarter of a ton. I wouldn't allow her in my car either!

FagsMagsandBags · 02/02/2025 06:31

Someone said it's not pandering to allow her to use a cab service, but it seems that Uber and Lyft do make sure that severely obese can use their service they just need to order a large vehicle and she chose not to do that. Given her little poor me video and all that ensued it seems more than likely she did it for the likes so, f her. She's a dickhead.

The seatbelt has everything to do with this.
In the event of a collision, would you want a quarter of a ton of flesh and bone hurtling into the back of you at speed?
