Tattle Life rebrand

Crap forum Tattle Life has changed overnight into 8Cafe.

8Cafe

Hate Cafe

Geddit?!

Nothing says 'I have nothing to hide' quite like changing the whole name and domain of your website.

The man who hides behind this pathetic hate forum (who Olivia Attwood met in real life and described as ugly...exactly what you think a troll would look like) needs to be put in prison for what he has done.

His website has caused at least one suicide that I know of. If he is so proud of it, he should be out there in public giving interviews about it.

I think OP's description of the owner, however, rather devalues the concern given that she/he/they is doing exactly the same as the people she/he/they is criticising on Tattle/8.Cafe by making that statement.

You got there before me!

Coldanddamp · 21/01/2025 19:30

And when MN makes a minute tweak to the font users lose their minds, shake and cry, log it with 101 and self refer for talking therapy?

😆😆

GoopLoopSoop · 21/01/2025 19:33

Name changed obviously.

I’ve got threads about me and my family on tattle. I’ve been suicidal over it. They don’t give a shit. The amount of lies on there about me are ridiculous.

Who has committed suicide over it? It needs to be shut down. I don’t see any helpful discussions. Just hate, body shaming, homophobia and more.

Are you famous?

UndermyShoeJoe · 21/01/2025 19:37

I like reading tattle. I follow a few threads. The Lauryn Goodman ones where they can see right though her. They have the proof. They find her own words that contradict her very own words. She hates that the court documents were released showing her up for the money hungry person she is.

OnlyMabelInTheBuilding · 21/01/2025 19:39

Tattle did god’s work for a long time, exposing the grift behind the unmarked ads, spon, paid content.

Influencing should not be a job. If you don’t want to be on tattle, get a real job and certainly don’t flog your kids privacy for likes and free shit.

febmayjune87 · 21/01/2025 19:40

I haven't heard of it. Is it a celeb gossip forum?

DUsername · 21/01/2025 19:43

unlikelywitch · 21/01/2025 13:05

I haven’t posted on Tattle for almost a year but still lurk occasionally. Logged in this morning and it immediately took me to 8 Cafe and had a notification from a mod to a post “explaining” what was happening. Something about certain threads being locked to allow more people to sign up. I deleted my account there and then as something felt off.

I agree that influencers are grifters and should be held to account (the off topic section is also fine) but anyone who claims that this is the primary focus of Tattle users is being disingenuous. Some of these people spend their life tracking every move on influencers or celebrities they hate. There’s been utterly vile things said about children because their mother or father happens to be someone they don’t like. Some of the most hateful insults I’ve ever seen and even wishing death on people.

Some will claim that any posts like the above are reported and deleted but they’re not. Most threads like this are a hive mind where posters feed off each other’s venom to the point where just everyone loses the absolute run of themselves. It could be a space for holding grabby grifters to account but the unhinged lunacy that’s allowed to go unchecked undermines any of that for me.

Agree with this completely.

Yes and no. News like Huw Edwards and Phillip Schofield were picked up there first, they also flag up any grifting and call it what it is. There's also a fair amount of obsessives who need to let go a bit, I think some of them know more about Alice Evans than they do their own lives for instance, but again they have the receipts for her online behaviour and have gone from "come on Alice do something with your life, you're an intelligent woman" to where they are now. It's a crazy site, entertaining if you're not involved, but I can see how it would affect people's mental health if they're subject of a thread.

The Mumsnet thread on there is brilliant Grin.

I’d love a code to be able to join.

It's not they pick on people's outfits of the day

Really? Not seen that for a long time....

Still tattle for me

Would absolutely love to know who has committed suicide over their tattle thread....

UneFoisAuChalet · 21/01/2025 19:54

No idea what’s going on on this thread but it’s Tattle for me too @Foundanotherwrinkle.

If you don’t like Tattle don’t visit it! The constant monitoring of it is downright weird.

rainythursdayontheavenue · 21/01/2025 19:55

I've been members of both forums for some time now, and I've never had the rudeness on Tattle that I've had on here. Users are generally much more respectful of difference of opinions.

The Katie Price threads are the only ones I've found very cliquey (and nasty to outsiders) but I've learned so much about instagramers and reality stars. The gofundme scammers thread is an eye opener to say the least.

Never fails to amuse me how much about it the people who detest it know.

Coldanddamp · 21/01/2025 19:57

but I can see how it would affect people's mental health if they're subject of a thread.

The vast majority of people can't handle criticism even if it's valid.
I don't think the MNs threads here about Harry & Meghan would be good for their mental health.

You could say the exact same thing about tattle though right?! If you don't like a particular influencer, don't look at them!

Garlicnorth · 21/01/2025 19:59

What a peculiar thread. I hadn't heard of Olivia Attwood so thought I'd see if she was a Tattle target. This screenshot of all the threads about her shows that [a] she isn't, and [b] Tattlers don't spend their lives trashing everyone, these are all fan threads.

Oh, and [c] it's still called Tattle Life; the url hasn't changed either.

I don't look at the influencer threads as I don't follow influencers.

But Tattle is more than threads about influencers, as MNet is more than AIBU. There are lots of great little subsections that are useful, friendly and informative.

It was the only time I ever looked at it and that was probably over a year ago but it put me right off.

It's certainly grown beyond that now yes, but that's why it was originally set up to 'tattle' or gossip about celebs and influencers. So it seems a little hypocritical to me to criticise people on Mumsnet for doing the very thing tattle was originally set up to do!
