I always find this fascinating.

AI holidays
Period features
SUVs
Buying new baby clothes/decorating a nursery.

What else?

Baby showers. Especially for the second, third etc.

I'm not sure it's snobby but people have spoken down to me for having children with someone in the military and not moving around with him.

Can’t think of anything worse than moving around with the husband and being judged on my husband’s rank, and all the nonsense with the wives. Well done you for opting out of it…..

I did too!

Stock cubes, apparently 🙄

Yup. Make your own stock sweetie.

Northerners

Especially from certain posters on higher education threads.

Anon501178 · 18/01/2025 23:22

Kids sharing bedrooms
Claiming benefits
Not saving for your kid go to university
Not showering at least once a day
Eating processed/not home cooked food

MyrtleLion · 18/01/2025 23:24

Married a Northerner.
Love AI holidays (tried half board and full board but spent a fortune in booze, so we're reverting to AI with concierge service)
Love a salad.
Drive a small SUV.
Celebrate adult birthdays.

He may be Northern, but he does make his own stock and my god, his gravy is delicious.

UnderSeptemberStars · 18/01/2025 23:24

This. Anyone mentions decorating for Halloween or Autum and you know all the negative comments are coming.

Christmas Fridges ..... I mean , how dare you stuff your fridge to the gills with FOOD .
Read the Room
CoL Crisis

It's a very funny thread but it's tucked away so no-one will accidently stumble on it .

And I'll add
Christmas Eve Hampers
Christmas Pyjamas
Dec 1st Boxes

Cue Am I missing something but I am struggling to understand Christmas Pyjamas .Why would you buy a pair of pyjamas for one night then throw them away . Landfill and all that . Tat - Are they A Thing
No you aren't struggling to understand you;re just patronising and rude and you could try , Oh I don;t know , bloody searching it up ?

allfurcoatnoknickers · 18/01/2025 23:28

I'm going to snob the other way and say those who are looking down at AI holidays are those who have only been on cheap AI holidays. I wholeheartedly recommend the 5* ones where you get your own butler and swim-out room. And you can order off a menu unless you specifically opt to go to the buffet instead of the steakhouse/hibachi/sushi etc.

PuppyMonkey · 18/01/2025 23:28

Aldi.

Violinist64 · 18/01/2025 23:29

Anyone who does not live in the south east, except, of course, Devon or Cornwall. Even parts of the south east are suspect - Essex is obviously beyond the pale. The north is bad enough but the Midlands is beyond redemption.

PuppyMonkey · 18/01/2025 23:28

Aldi.

Aldi toiletries and cleaning products with the Leaping Bunny get my vote .

RobertaFirmino · 18/01/2025 23:30

Carbohydrates
Starbucks/Costa/Nero etc.
Football

SuperBlondie28 · 18/01/2025 23:32

I noticed that everytime it's a health/weight related post, the OP declares they are vegan or veggie, so I'm gonna say :

People who eat meat, poultry, fish are looked down on!

YourSnugHazelTraybake · 18/01/2025 22:39

Adults who play video games.

It's also now men who watch YouTube, according to a recent thread. Total ick, apparently.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 18/01/2025 23:33

You cannot express any concern about the welfare of animals kept for food unless you are a vegan.

deadpantrashcan · 18/01/2025 23:33

WFH.

I find MN snobby towards young mums or them that have had a baby at a young age.
Not all of us want a baby at 45 or 50.

Fair enough, but it's doubtful that the majority want kids at 50.

FagsMagsandBags · 18/01/2025 23:34

I'm happy to be a "snob" about the UAE. I'm not on board with going on holiday ot places were there is slavery and as near as dammit slavery where people have a visa where they can only work for on employee and will be paid pennies and treated like slaves. I feel that that sort of thing would put a bit of a downer on enjoying my time in an arid desert state the sun.

DH watches Sorted Food You Tube videos .
Hasn't inspired him to cook though ...

naemates · 18/01/2025 23:35

Penguins as in the biscuit or bird?

Peak mumsnet is it being neither biscuit nor bird, but bollard

Supersimkin7 · 18/01/2025 23:36

MN Emotional scale:

resilience, courage, vulnerability and hope = bad

collapse, hysteria, ‘crying and shaking’ = good

aggressively insulting anyone who ‘invalidates your trauma’ by coping = better

LTB, feuding, NC, signed off sick = best

CrowleyKitten · 18/01/2025 23:36

Dotto · 18/01/2025 23:02

Stock cubes, apparently 🙄

I mean, not cubes, but the amount of things I put jelly stock pots in, and it makes them massively more delicious is incredible. a chicken stock pot makes my cheese sauce so rich and silky, and everyone says it's delicious.
