What is the most miserable biscuit in existence?

DH and I are not eating sweet stuff for January and today he commented that he was so fed up with it he would even want to eat a really crap biscuit, so we were debating what that would be.

He reckoned the worst biscuit would be a Nice biscuit, but I think I would much rather eat one of those than a Garibaldi.

Is there a biscuit even more disappointing, that you would be less likely to accept an offer of than a Garibaldi biscuit?

Digestives. They're so dull. Chocolate covered ones are great though!

Love a rich tea finger biscuit, they taste nicer than the rounds

Shouldbedoing · 18/01/2025 13:49

Own brand Rich Tea are pointless, but McVities Rich Tea are lovely

Rich tea are lovely dipped in tea!

Yes ! I'm shocked at the rich tea hate. My vote is custard cream

I agree about rich tea, so tasteless.

Jammie dodgers are the world's best biscuit 😊

Unless they have no taste buds, how can anyone like malted milk?

I bloody love a malted milk , you can get chocolate coated ones which take them into another dimension too

I think the most boring biscuit is the rich tea closely followed by garibaldi and fig rolls in joint second. These were also the main biscuits we had as kids so may be PTSD linked

These. Too sweet for cheese, too savoury for tea.

They're not bad with blue cheese. As are digestives.

Nah don’t stick chocolate onto biscuits

by all means make using coco powder and chocolate butter cream but not put chocolate on one side

madness

I love a Malted Milk. Chocolate Malted Milks are elite.

I also love a Nice and a Rich Tea.

Garibaldis or Fig Rolls can get in the bin.

TheoreticalVacuum · 18/01/2025 13:52

I love a Rich Tea for tea-dunking purposes. However, I bought a packet of 'cocoa' Rich Tea the other day and was bitterly disappointed. Bloody awful.

Jl2014 · 18/01/2025 13:52

Love a garibaldi. Rich tea nice. Lotus biscuits are gross.

bridgetreilly · 18/01/2025 13:53

Weirdly, ordinary Rich Tea are awful, but Rich Tea Fingers are amazing. Best biscuits for dunking.

CatsBeCrazy · 18/01/2025 13:53

Oh I remember those hovis biscuits. No one ate them in our household , they were not even the last to go , we just left them 🤣 horrible things lol

MikeRafone · 18/01/2025 13:54

I thought the hobos biscuits were for butter, not for cheese or dunkin

MikeRafone · 18/01/2025 13:54

Hovis

TerrysNeapolitan · 18/01/2025 13:54

Bourbon. Jaffa Cake. Both Vile. I like Nice and Garbaldi

CarlaH · 18/01/2025 13:54

Clearly I am alone is liking custard creams. Most boring is a rich tea and bourbons are spawn of the devil.

LillyPJ · 18/01/2025 13:55

Hobnobs - or any oaty biscuit. I like oats in anything else, especially flapjack, but they're grim in biscuits.

taybert · 18/01/2025 13:55

noblegiraffe · 18/01/2025 13:49

What the hell are those? Small toasts?

A hovis biscuit. They’re a sort of digestive thing but not as sweet but still too sweet to be for cheese in my opinion. They can appear in both cheese biscuit and sweet biscuit selections but are always left in the box to go bendy because no one understands wtf you’re supposed to do with them.

The little Hovis biscuits are our favourite for cheese. We can buy any amount of fancy crackers but it's the humble little Hovis we fight over.

"You took the last Little Bread!"
"I was saving best for last!"
"Oh my god, you're the worst!"

😳😆

hazelnutvanillalatte · 18/01/2025 13:56

Rich Tea are the worst - dry and mealy with that nauseating baby-food sweet taste.

RosaBaby2 · 18/01/2025 13:57

Just the whole Family Circle selection really 😂

I wish you were my neighbour. I'd give you all our shitty water biscuits and an arm for your Hovis.

Mmmcheese89 · 18/01/2025 13:57

Definitely rich tea.

I love a malted milk, especially a chocolate one. I try and eat around the cows but mums legs always come off.

Yuckyyuckyuckity · 18/01/2025 13:57

Most 'boring' biscuits eg Nice, Rich Tea, Malted Milks are nice dipped in tea but I'd never choose to have one without a hot drink.

Custard Creams are awful with or without a hot drink. I have the biggest sweet tooth ever but if Custard Creams were the only sweet thing on offer I'd give them a miss. They're so basic and depressing!

LoftyMauveBear · 18/01/2025 13:57

The pink wafer ones that have the texture and taste of cardboard
