For the better, obviously.

Can be a thing, person, activity, place...anything really.

Mine is trig bagging. It's so much fun and gets you out there, to unexpected and unknown places.

What's yours?

That I can search the gallery on my Samsung Galaxy to find pictures. E.g. if I type teddy it would find all photos of teddies. Life changing, won't have to spend ages scrolling back trying to find a photo I took of some random thing.

These are brilliant! We discovered them 18 months ago and use them in our campervan, so everything is packed neatly in different coloured cubes so you know which one has the undies in etc., and the clothes cupboard is neatly stacked instead of random clothes stuffed in. Absolute game changer.

Where do you get them from?

Doubledded123 · 10/01/2025 20:42

Probably a shark hoover with a light on the front! I need to get out more...

I bought a shower squeegee after staying with friends and using theirs. Not only is it fun in a “When I’m cleaning windows” way but it saves us a fortune in Viakal (v hard water area). I probably need to get out more!

Can you link please ? Is it just a normal squugee?

MyrtleLion · 10/01/2025 20:44

I have a sleepmask that's like a headscarf, with integral speakers so I can listen audio books as I go to sleep. Comes in different colours. It's washable if you take the electronics out. DH washed it for me...

Chat GPT. Use it every day, saved so much time and learned a lot

Justrestingmyeyes1 · 10/01/2025 20:45

SO late to the party but an Air Fryer. Absolutely love it and kicking myself that I waited so long to get one.
Ovira - not overweight enough to get weight loss injections - have lost 7lbs in 2 weeks and for the first time in my life, i don’t feel hungry all the time.
Heated throw - worth every penny this last week

Trixiefirecracker · 10/01/2025 20:45

My husband. He changed my whole life. He is loyal and kindhearted and his love language seems to be acts of service. I haven’t cooked since I had the kids and he loved a good tidy. Hands on dad. Funny and self deprecating. Very, very smart and hot.

Having an upstairs Henry and a downstairs Henry.

Its lovely not having to lug Henry upstairs.

I have an upstairs Shark and a downstairs Shark (and a downstairs Hetty) but I find that neither of the Sharks want to actually do the stairs. They each say it's the other's job. What do your Henrys say?

rosemole · 10/01/2025 20:45

@TitusMoan
"Presumably you get a lovely and/or interesting view at each point too?"

Usually you do as they are all high points. There is also a scavenger hunt element too as they are not always immediately visible. Some will be slap bang on top of a hill and others will be hidden in a hedge or the middle of a copse so harder to find. You get to hone your map reading skills.

Have just discovered a microwave and intensive bake setting on my microwave. A had a crispy baked potato ready in 15 minutes!

I never knew about this (is yours some sort of combination oven or just purely a microwave?). You've prompted me to go and have a look at my microwave now.

How does the soundbar work? Where do you position it - near your seat? Can you recommend one?

We have one person in the household who has significant hearing loss in both ears but refuses to get hearing aids, so the TV is constantly on really loud and with closed captions all over everything. If we could get him something to be able to hear it without the rest of us being deafened in the process, that would be amazing!

I didn’t know such a thing existed till we were replacing our television a few months ago, JL had an offer on sound bars bought at the same time so I sort of found this by accident. TV and sound bar are both Sony Bravia. The sound bar depends on the television being able to connect to two audio outputs. It rests on my shoulders but is very light.

Guided meditation with crystal bowls. Definitely takes practice, but so calming mentally.

HRTQueen · 10/01/2025 20:51

Mounjaro

its been life changing and I couldn’t be happier with the results not just the weight loss but also the obsession with when I am next going to eat has been silenced

Same. And he listens and cares and soothes my meltdowns.

Garlicnorth · 10/01/2025 20:53

Two years ago, I discovered that I'm entitled to Pension Credit. Very much life changing! I'm still poor, but no longer having to do without everything I don't strictly 'need'. I have been very happily overspending for two years, time to rein it in 😬 I missed out on a year's worth - spilt milk and all that, but I do recommend regular checks on the entitledto calculator.

Newmumburnout · 10/01/2025 20:55

Podcasts and period pants 🤣... This would be the title of my memoir should I write one

Mine are very lame:

A window vac for condensation.

A setting on the washing machine that gives an extra spin without an extra rinse. Learnt on here very recently Smile

If you want to be extra you could check out the delights and wonders if a dehumidifier…

Yes, positively insane to keep saucepans in a cupboard. I've never heard of such a thing.

You must have missed the bit about the torch, hahahaaa, the saucepans are in a tunnel which leads to a cave, ladies!

Rice cooker. Got given one for Christmas and it's made cooking rice so easy, particularly with two young children running round. Keeps it warm so even if I haven't got the timings on dinner right we still have perfect rice.

I want one so badly, im rubbish with rice and spend so much money on those micro packets ....
Are they really so simple.to use?

In the last week, an air frier which dh is now obsessed with. And for me, a flash speed mop - perfect for the lazy/time poor!

You can get the dry wipes unbranded on Amazon, I use reusable pads and method mop stuff with mine

doesn't make sense to some of my friends but moved into a new house a few months ago. paid extra to have the counter in kitchen a little bit higher than standard. an absolute game changer for me. I am not tall but always felt I was bending down when washing up or prepping food or cleaning. same with oven it's now waist height. similar in bathrooms all sinks a little higher and bath is also built in higher. no more so much bending down. such a little difference has made a huge difference to my life and back

I would LOVE that. Everything in my house is crotch height for me

Why would you be on the floor looking for pans? Don’t you hang them? How bizarre.

I keep coming back to this 😂 It reminds me of "Why don't you grow food on your land?"

Hanging pans in my kitchen would mean crouching down to get from the door to the sink! Mine are stacked in a chest-level cupboard, though. I only knock them off the shelf once a fortnight or so.
