If I were to pop over to your house right now, what would you offer me?

(This being MN, that's assuming you'd let me in!
Also assuming we knew each other, and not just total internet randoms😅)

Interested to see if you would use this opportunity to get rid of most of your Christmas goodies like I am doing when people have stopped by.

Here, you would be offered any of the following - 2 boxes of Fox's classics biscuits, a box of McVities Victoria biscuits, Waitrose classic panettone, a tin of Royal dansk danish butter cookies, 2 boxes Thornton classic, an After Eight Selection box, a large tray of Ferrero Rocher and a box of Guylian deluxe seashells - all unopened!

(Don't worry, a couple of these will go to work with me tomorrow to be shared with colleagues and the rest will be going to my neighbour who organises the local food bank donation boxes)

You'd also have a choice of a variety of teas and coffees, prosecco or Bucks Fizz!

Dairy box chocs, Victoria biscuits, some Cadburys selection boxes and whatever is left of the quality street, roses, celebrations and heroes! Also crisps, Baileys and some similar chocolate drinks from Hotel Chocolat.oh and lots of beer.

lovemycbf · 05/01/2025 15:48

A... full feast for Nollaig ma mBan

Happy Women's little Christmas! 😉

NovemberMorn · 05/01/2025 15:51

This is a lovely feel good thread, but also spare a thought for the ones who didn't have enough to eat over Christmas, much less have loads of goodies left.

LastNightMyPJsSavedMyLife · 05/01/2025 15:53

A time to call back when I'm actually in.

Printedword · 05/01/2025 15:53

Lebkuchen and shortbread - but I don't ever feel like using all the Christmassy things up at once. I aim for the lebkuchen in a quantity that keeps going until spring birthdays

Lifealittleboulder · 05/01/2025 15:55

Cup of tea or coffee, milk fresh from this mornings milking, sausages bacon and bagels - no Christmas stuff left but that’s what’s in the fridge! You’d do well to get here though, it’s snowing and we’re in the sticks

I did more than spare a thought though, I took a load of stuff to the Street Kitchen this morning rather than just come on here and be a fun sponge

Beezknees · 05/01/2025 15:58

Tea, coffee, fruit juice or prosecco to drink, and some Fox's chocolate chip cookies.

I don't keep loads of stuff in to be honest. We are a family of 2, I am trying not to snack as I'm fat at the moment and need to lose weight. I don't often get visitors (very small extended family, no partner or siblings and my mum lives a 40 minute drive away so she wouldn't just drop by unannounced). If I knew someone was coming I'd pop out and buy some nibbles.

Eyesopenwideawake · 05/01/2025 15:59

The last slice of homemade Jamaica ginger cake. Because I luffs you.

Ghostofallnightmares · 05/01/2025 16:01

Gin, blood orange gin, prosecco, white wine , unidentified pink fizz x2
They're in a bag by the door. Take them with you when you go please 😁

Sorry if I sounded like a 'Fun sponge', and good for you for letting everyone know you have donated.

Christmas leftovers gone. You could have tea/coffee and a biscuit

Mince pies or Rich Tea biscuits.

Eyerollexpert · 05/01/2025 16:08

Not a lot here. We were supposed to eat out today for my birthday tomorrow but we are snowed in😭

EllaPaella · 05/01/2025 16:09

Prosecco! (We have about 12 bottles left over from NYE party - we bought a crate and then all put guests brought a bottle with them).
Mince pies, panetonne, fererro rocher or hotel chocolat chocs.
Actually we've done well this year and pretty much finished off all the Christmas treats. Probably because we've hosted more than usual.

HurdyGurdy19 · 05/01/2025 16:10

Tea or coffee (instant), fruit juice, squash, water or a variety of fizzy drinks.

Family Circle biscuits (only bought when my son is home), home made gingerbread or lemon syrup loaf, mince pies (Tesco Finest spice rum ones, not home made - I wouldn't inflict my pastry on anyone) or a sandwich of some kind. Or any combination of these

All other Christmas food has been binned by now

MamaBobo · 05/01/2025 16:18

Proper coffee, lebkuchen or stollen atm. We’re having Raclette and Charcuterie that we brought back from France for dinner if you want to stay!

PopGoesBang · 05/01/2025 16:24

Anyone's welcome to my 2 year old... she's in a very... strong willed mind set today.

We have a few cans of Coke Zero left and j20 and a bottle of Prosecco somewhere, I'll happily throw that in to sweeten the deal.
Oh and not from Christmas but we have about 4 tubes of tomato puree if that's a help to any one.

Inextremis · 05/01/2025 16:25

I've just opened a bottle of red wine, so you could have some of that, and then hang around for a bit and there'll be pork roasted with apple, onion and sage, with stuffing, roast potatoes, carrots and broccoli. Maybe a little gruyere and port afterwards?

Thursa · 05/01/2025 16:39

You’re lucky you’re coming today, because the leftover sweet treats will be going to work with my husband tomorrow!

Tea, coffee, hot chocolate, juice, fizzy cans, mulled wine.

Shortbread, panettone, lebkucken, mince pies, various chocolates.

notnorman · 05/01/2025 16:54

I've got a bit of cheese

If you will hold the ladder while I take the decs off the tree, I will give you…
a slice of Betty’s Christmas cake
a fresh batch of mince pies (why, DD, why? Just stop making them!!!)
a selection of delicious coffees from the Algerian coffee store on Old Compton St
a clementine
a Lindt chocolate Father Christmas.

And a seat on the comfiest sofa ever.

why do you have Betty's Christmas cake - did she off load it onto you or did you steal it, perhaps a present?

Its mostly a Northern thing (along with some very lucky tourists)

DebbieTheCat · 05/01/2025 17:20

Thanks all, only on MN would you get offers of newborn baby cuddles, a "strong willed" 2 Yr old, a roast beef dinner, sex and declarations of "luff"😆

@Eyesopenwideawake , that sounds delicious, I do love ginger cake!

@EllaPaella You need to throw another party! Preferably for us all on here, we'd get through that in no time - cheers! 🍾🥂🥂
