Scenes in films or TV that never fail to make you laugh out loud

Watched 'Romy and Michele's High School Reunion' last night with DCs and the dance scene still absolutely cracks me up.
Reminds me of what the posters on the MN Strictly threads call contempo waft 😆

Which film or TV scenes do it for you?
Links welcome!

@upinaballoon my son (26!) and I happened to watch a M&W compilation last week and were both laughing all the way through. They were doing a skit on a ship with Fenella Fielding who, of course, couldn't stop herself laughing which set Ernie off too! They were so clever.

Lots already mentioned:

IT crowd - what's in the box? It's the Internet

MrsSkylerWhite · 02/01/2025 13:36

Too many to mention.
The silliest is the top and tails musical scene at the scientific institute, Putting on the Ritz, in Young Frankenstein. Partly because our then 10 year old laughed like a drain at it. He’s not the most demonstrative usually so it’s a happy memory with him.

There are a few episodes of Friday Night Dinners that make me laugh every time. My favourite is the one when Martin has a dead fox in the freezer and is trying to hide it Grin

“How are you going to get it stuffed?”

”I’ll get a man.”

“And what’s this man going to stuff it with?”

“Sage an onion.”

dicdicnurse · 02/01/2025 13:39

DH and I laugh out loud every time we watch the episode of Modern Family when Phil tries to buy the 'mint condition' baseball card.

G_

I always laugh at this

stayathomer · 02/01/2025 13:41

The Middle- where they meet April for the first time and she walks into the glass door but then does it again. Even better watching with my son who can’t breathe as he’s laughing so much! Modern family when Mitch joins in with the flash mob, the us office - too many to quote!!!

MamaBobo · 02/01/2025 13:41

Victor Meldrew coming back into the bedroom with a huge garden gnome saying “I only went down for a bloody book”. Also Victor, picking up the phone and answering, only to realise he’s holding next door’s dachshund puppy.

The scene in Father Ted where Ted comes downstairs in the middle of the night and turns the lights on, to be confronted with Mrs Doyle, in housecoat and hairnet, holding a tray “Cuppa Tea Father, go on…”

Lifelover16 · 02/01/2025 13:41

The Youth Club Irish dancing in the caravan from Father Ted.
Most of Elf (so childish I know)
Planes Trains and Automobiles- almost every scene but especially the hotel room

NoGwenItsABoxingDayTrifle · 02/01/2025 13:42

And there's a line in Gavin and Stacy that I find hysterical.
Dawn talking to Pam and Mick about Pete.. Good old sort of the earth Peter Sutcliffe.

stayathomer · 02/01/2025 13:43

Oh and Frasier where Niles thinks he’s high

Pieceofpurplesky · 02/01/2025 13:43

It's not a TV or film but a news clip. It's the deadpan comment at the end.

stayathomer · 02/01/2025 13:43

And Father Ted- Speed!!

Elderflower14 · 02/01/2025 13:46

The episode of Dad's Army when they are practising a drill in the church hall. The vicar, verger and air raid warden walk into the office unaware. False bullets are shot at the door, a false bomb is chucked in and goes bang and then Pike charges in jumps on the table and pretends to shoot them all. The first time I watched it with my nephew I was laughing so much I had an asthma attack!

Barryplopper · 02/01/2025 13:51

Jez pulling faces at the interviewer for the job at jlb credit - peep show 😂

MySweetGeorgina · 02/01/2025 14:01

So many already mentioned:

Peep show wedding when they are hiding, that whole convo

The fire drill opener and Prison Mike in US office

This country: the court case sketches as posted above Grin to be honest I found This Country so hard to watch the first time around, it was too real. Took me second watch to be able to watch it stress free and laugh

Bob Mortimers stories on WILTY, especially "we beg your pardon we are in your garden"

stickybear · 02/01/2025 14:08

Love this thread, keep thinking of others to add 😄

Father Ted, Kicking Bishop Brennan Up the Arse. It's his face in the photo that gets me Grin

Bob Mortimer's story about the sick owl

The first Christmas special in Gavin and Stacey when they all get pissed at Pam and Mick's and Pete ends up punching Dave. Also Dave and Nessa, 'you knows I love the bumper cars'

WilmerFlintstone · 02/01/2025 14:09

HOUSE : endless fun. In one episode he’s got the X~Ray upside down and in another his patient is suffering from a condition that not only had I never heard of but nor had any of my colleagues. I then called a friend in Tropical Medicines and he’d never heard of it either. Finally our Burmese pharmacist found a reference to it in a World Health supplement to Ebola outbreak. There was no documented treatment apart from House, of course. 😆

TheMainlySilentFrog · 02/01/2025 14:10

Most of the IT Crowd - especially the theatre one where Jen turns to see Moss behind the bar.

Frasier - He thinks he's giving a barmitzvah speech in Hebrew, but it's actually Klingon! Also the episode where the parents of Roz's unborn baby come for a visit and they both have gigantic noses. Everyone is tying themselves in knots pretending not to notice.

Only Fools and Horses where the blow-up dolls pop up from behind the sofa.

The 'mole' scene from Goldmember.

Green wing, the scene where Alan Statham (mark heap) comes out of a wardrobe wearing only underpants (Y fronts I think!) , playing a recorder and dancing around madly before realising Olivia Coleman ( whose character's name I can't remember) is standing there rather stunned.
Would link if I could...

Came here to post this!

my son (26!) and I happened to watch a M&W compilation last week and were both laughing all the way through.

So much of Morecambe and Wise. The sketch with Shirley Bassey singing Smoke Gets in Your Eyes. I don't know how she kept going. She deserved her Damehood for that alone.

And the two of them singing Bring Me Sunshine always raises a smile for me. Not laugh out loud funny, just feelgood.

2 Doors Down episode 'Dinner for 7'

Anne Marie spills the peas in spectacular fashion and hoovers them up while telling everyone to relax and keep eating.

An episode of Frasier called Ham Radio. Frasier is attempting to put on an old fashioned live radio drama for Halloween, I think. The whole thing is just wonderful, especially Niles as he gets more annoyed at Frasier's overbearing directing, but the line that gets me every time is Bulldog's girlfriend who rehearses her line very carefully, then when her time comes yells out LOOK OUT, HE'S GOT A NUG!

I love that episode!

I'd forgotten the blow up dolls. 😁 😁 😁
My Dad was on the phone to his business partner the night they first showed this. I was watching near Dad, his bps gf was watching near him. We were both laughing so loudly they gave up trying to have a conversation...! 🤣
