Watched 'Romy and Michele's High School Reunion' last night with DCs and the dance scene still absolutely cracks me up.
Reminds me of what the posters on the MN Strictly threads call contempo waft 😆

Which film or TV scenes do it for you?
Links welcome!

Gaz and Dave in The Full Monty stuck on the car in the water after sinking their steel girders accidentally. Man with dog walks past:

Alright?

Gaz: Aye, not so bad.

Dave: Not so bad..not so much of a chuffing SoS is it!

The whole film tbh, from Gerald seriously describing getting a stiffy at the pool as a teenager to the bit where they all come out in their y-fronts when the bailiffs try to take the TV from his house. Cracks me up every time. "Fuckin hell, we'll just check with the office, might have been a mistake."

shellyleppard · 02/01/2025 12:03

@Lollygaggle the whole film never fails to make me laugh. No matter how many times I watch it ❤️

Hedgerow2 · 02/01/2025 12:11

The lemonade scene in Detectorists. Specifically Mackenzie Crook's eyelid. Never fails.

DancingLions · 02/01/2025 12:19

This! You'll know if you've seen it.
I'm one of those who can find something funny, but rarely laugh out loud, but this had me crying with laughter.

Also, Father Ted, the Eurosong episode, both when they're writing the song and the hilarious video.
IT Crowd, when they go to the theatre, love the whole episode but Roy caught in the disabled loo cracks me up.

An episode of Frasier called Ham Radio. Frasier is attempting to put on an old fashioned live radio drama for Halloween, I think. The whole thing is just wonderful, especially Niles as he gets more annoyed at Frasier's overbearing directing, but the line that gets me every time is Bulldog's girlfriend who rehearses her line very carefully, then when her time comes yells out LOOK OUT, HE'S GOT A NUG!

Love that one.

But the scene when Frasier and Niles take over a restaurant, and Niles tries to kill eels is even better (IMO):

I don't say I laugh out loud at it but there's a very big smile on my face at the Morecambe and Wise sketch of getting the breakfast ready to the tune of 'The Stripper'.

Also, I mustn't forget 'all the right notes but not necessarily in the right order' while snarling at Andre Preview.

Biggus Dickus.
The storming the castle scene in Monty Python and the Holy Grail.
Monty Python's The fish slapping dance.

The scene in The IT Crowd where Jen calls tech support and can’t understand what the man is saying. Also Donald O’Connor pulling faces during the ‘Moses Supposes’ routine in Singing in the Rain.
On the other hand, from when I first saw The Railway Children in 1970 all the way up when it was on TV to a couple of days ago, I sob when Jenny Agutter shouts, ‘Daddy, my Daddy!’ Every time.

Actually also Donald O’Connor’s physical comedy on Make ‘em Laugh” in Singin’ in the Rain. Sublime.

I randomly stumbled upon old episodes of Miranda on iPlayer recently and was surprised how much of that made me laugh out loud too, despite what I said above I’m not a huge fan of slapstick but she is also a very good physical comedienne, and the scripts are very sharp too.

”Pivot!” will never get old.

All the openers in Brooklyn 99 are fab, but the best one has to be Jake making a lineup sing "I want it that way"

Greyrockin · 02/01/2025 12:38

Dirty Rotten Scoundrels - Ruprecht's response to "what did we do when Uncle Ted was here?" and Ruprecht during dinner "excuse me, may I go to the bathroom first?"

I'm going to have to watch it again now 😁

AlecTrevelyan006 · 02/01/2025 12:38

Just play the f*ing note!

HotCrossBunplease · 02/01/2025 12:41

“For the last time Dougal. This cow is small. That cow is far away.”

And pretty much any scene with Mrs Doyle in it.

PalisadesPatty · 02/01/2025 12:42

The ball waxing scene in Bad Moms Christmas 😂 🤭

Binman · 02/01/2025 12:42

When Raquel gives birth in Only Fools and Horses after the lead up in the series it was so funny.

ChessieFL · 02/01/2025 12:44

Friends - where Phoebe is coming on to Chandler to try and get him to admit that he’s seeing Monica. ‘I’m very bendy’!

Father Ted - the video to My Lovely Horse

Miranda - where she goes to stay in the hotel across the road

The Office - when they put Gareth’s stapler in jelly

The (US ) Office opener where Dwight sets a fire to see how they cope in a fire drill. "Save Bandit" and "the fire is shooting at us".
Same show, the cpr scene where Kelly randomly gets up to dance.

The return of Toby, and Michael's reaction ("NO. NOOO. NOOO") and Prison Mike and the tour around Michael's condo. The whole series to be honest 🤣

TeabySea · 02/01/2025 12:49

Near the end of "Dogma" where Jay wants to know what's going on.
The episode of OFMD when Stede, Lucuis and Ed go treasure-hunting and a snake falls on Ed.
Moss in the IT crowd reporting a fire.
Moss in court.
Bernard in Black Books waking up to find he's hired Mani.
Mike in Ghosts "Daddy's gonna drill a hole in the wall" and Lady Button's increasing agitation.

Any banter involving Lee Mack, David Mitchell and Bob Mortimer on WILTY

The pot of pish in Still Game.

This, and the bit in the very first episode where they're playing about with the door peephole and the undertaker wants to bring the coffin through.

taxguru · 02/01/2025 12:53

There are a few that we want over and over again and never fail to laugh throughout..

Minder on the Orient Express
One Foot in the Algarve
The Only Fool and Horses where Rodney wins a child competition holiday.

Nothing beats them.

Best has to be the donkey pissing in the bath in One Foot in the Algarve.

MissRoseDurward · 02/01/2025 13:05

Don't tell him, Pike! Dad's Army.

Yes, partly because Philip Madoc is only just managing not to crack up as he says his lines.

Ian Lavender reportedly didn't want the camera on him during Mainwaring's exchange with the Captain, because he thought he would laugh.

Dirty rotten scoundrels - 'they're dancing' cracks me up every time

Also the episode of Frasier when he has a horrible girlfriend and he doesn't like her, until his family object and say she's vile. He then screams in defence and says 'that's right I said I love her'

Frith2013 · 02/01/2025 13:16

Big Bang Theory - if you've got time to lean, you've got time to clean!

MrsSkeffington · 02/01/2025 13:17

Also most of the film the interview with James Franco and Seth Rogan! Where he says 'I might give him something with my hand' and someone shouts 'are you going to him off!' Cracks me up with their reaction. I'm giggling now!

Rosemarypots · 02/01/2025 13:21

Simon's sex scene in the Inbetweeners. "I'll fuck your fucking fanny off...".

Any Windsors scene with Princess Anne. Love the David Beckham episode.

Any Windsors scene with Princess Anne. Love the David Beckham episode.

The whole of the “fashion show” episode . Parts of it are seared into my brain (wardrobe malfunction).
