Watched 'Romy and Michele's High School Reunion' last night with DCs and the dance scene still absolutely cracks me up.
Reminds me of what the posters on the MN Strictly threads call contempo waft 😆

Which film or TV scenes do it for you?
Links welcome!

Green wing, the scene where Alan Statham (mark heap) comes out of a wardrobe wearing only underpants (Y fronts I think!) , playing a recorder and dancing around madly before realising Olivia Coleman ( whose character's name I can't remember) is standing there rather stunned.
Would link if I could...

The Valentine episode of Frasier where Niles decides to iron his trousers is magic.

SO many Friends scenes but the Ross spray tan one 😂

You’re right! Joey & ‘kidney stones’ always gets me too… 😂

BeretInParis · 02/01/2025 10:21

Love the Romy and Michele clip. Thanks for that.

I offer this scene from Zootopia / Zootropolis at the DMV (department of motor vehicles). Honestly, it makes me laugh out loud every time as I'm that rabbit in real life (in a hurry and easily aggravated)!

There are a few episodes of Friday Night Dinners that make me laugh every time. My favourite is the one when Martin has a dead fox in the freezer and is trying to hide it Grin

APushbikeNamedReluctance · 02/01/2025 10:25

Lots in Friday Night Dinner and the IT Crowd. I especially love the Countdown episode in IT Crowd.

Agree the frozen fox in FND is hilarious - just so ridiculous. Must say Paul Ritter was genius in every episode.

@PuppyMonkey my favourite bit is where Steve Martin starts washing his face..... with john Candy's characters underpants 🤢🤢🤣🤣 it's such a good film 🎥 i

Another planes , trains and automobiles, “you’re driving the wrong way” the whole sequence but particularly where it’s only the change in the light that lets you know the car is on fire.

NowNumber5 · 02/01/2025 11:04

Ah I bloody love FND!
Martin in the Prince Charles mask 😆
And when he gets "oil on mum's carpet" 🤣

'There's a spider on your head' from Nothing to lose 😂😂

"There's too many chairs" hotel room scene in Knocked Up.
In Pretty Woman, the scene where JR proceeds to eat some green decoration on a dessert. It's her face as she realises it's inedible.
A real oldie. Cheech & Chong and when the massive amount of acid kicks in when the Cop shows up at the car. Very funny.

Cheech and chong makes me cry with laughter every time

NotThisOldChestnutAgain · 02/01/2025 11:22

I rarely laugh out loud at TV or films, but the Dads Army one where they're guarding the German sailors and the German captain is trying to find out their names to write in his list for when they win the war, Pike is singing Whistle while you work, Hitler is a twerp, and when the German asks his name, Captain Mainwaring says, Don't tell him,Pike. Must have seen it dozens of times but it still makes me laugh.

stickybear · 02/01/2025 11:25

Also the FND episode where Jim ends up covered in red paint and thinks it's blood. 'So much blood, so much blood... so much paint, so much paint' Grin

porridgecake · 02/01/2025 11:26

"Some like it hot". So many hilarious moments. One of my favourite films.
Mrs Doyle pouring tea on Father Ted's hand. Mrs Doyle falling off the window sill.

I laughed out loud at even the thought of that episode.

The work outing episode of the IT Crowd has quite a few laugh out loud moments.

My favourite episode too. I absolutely love these scenes from polishing the freezer to Adam and Jonny opening the freezer. The whole episode is brilliant

Oh god yes!!! This is so funny but in a painfully on point way!

I've been watching Big Bang Theory (re watching for the millionth time) and much of that still makes me LOL - but one bit that always does, Penny and Amy are having a conversation about star trek, and Penny corrects Amy saying it's star WARS. Amy asks what the difference is and Penny replies
"THERE'S ABSOLUTELY NO DIFFERENCE"
The way she says it cracks me up every time.

Also, season 2 episode 1 of IT Crowd always has me crying with laughter

My favourite bit in BBT is the one where they are exchanging Christmas presents and Penny gives Sheldon a napkin signed by Leonard Nimoy ...

An episode of Frasier called Ham Radio. Frasier is attempting to put on an old fashioned live radio drama for Halloween, I think. The whole thing is just wonderful, especially Niles as he gets more annoyed at Frasier's overbearing directing, but the line that gets me every time is Bulldog's girlfriend who rehearses her line very carefully, then when her time comes yells out LOOK OUT, HE'S GOT A NUG!

Was going to add this when I saw the thread title. It’s my very favourite episode and I refuse to not watch it if it comes on.

“Look out, he’s got a nug!” is a regular quote in our house. That and talk of boyhood romps in Surrey.

Also love the scene in Nine Months where Julianne Moore is telling Hugh Grant that she’s unexpectedly pregnant-

Samuel: Are you sure?
Rebecca: I'm ten days late.
Samuel: And there's no way you could have had it and just not noticed?

SydneyCarton · 02/01/2025 11:45

DO NOT CROTH THITH LINE!!

This cracks me up every time 🤣

Devilsmommy · 02/01/2025 11:46

Austin Powers. When Dr Evil is in the electric office type chair and it just keeps turning and stopping. Don't know why but it cracks me up every time. Also the episode of Family Guy where Peter Griffin forgets how to sit down so he launches himself at the chair. Gets me howling every time 🤣

Redcrayons · 02/01/2025 11:47

The fire alarm scene in the US office. I could just watch that for 25 minutes on loop.
And in the UK version, Keith’s appraisal. ‘Weaknesses, eczema’

Inmyownlittlecorner · 02/01/2025 11:49

Like a previous poster the episode of The Office US with the fire alarm. The whole episode is brilliant!
Also:
Parks & Rec when they're on the ice for Leslie's speech, falling everywhere carrying a 3 legged dog & the music is "get on your feet". The episode with Bye Bye lil Sebastian is also a corker.
The Tabula Rasa episode of Buffy where they lose their memories is my favourite. Buffy being Joan thee vampire slayer & Spike thinking he's Giles son!
Modern family pilot episode with the circle of life.
Pretty much every episode of life in pieces, parks & rec, the Office US & Modern Family have a laugh out load moment for me!!

'There's a spider on your head' from Nothing to lose 😂😂

So many funny scenes in that film, it's a real tonic to watch.
And agree with a pp who mentioned Niles ironing his trousers. The bit that makes me laugh out loud is when he suddenly slows down as he realises he's running with scissors Grin

HRTQueen · 02/01/2025 11:58

Seinfeld - the 'dirty talk' conversation between Jerry and George

Only Fools and Horses - the bar scene, Trigger - they're gonna name him Rodney, after Dave, Rodney you drive the prat mobile, Trigger (i think) sounds like Jimmy Saville during the seance scene

Curb Your Enthusiasm - Beloved Cunt

Its Always Sunny in Philadelphia - Frank - you are just mashing it now

loads from all the above and Some Like it Hot
