Watched 'Romy and Michele's High School Reunion' last night with DCs and the dance scene still absolutely cracks me up.
Reminds me of what the posters on the MN Strictly threads call contempo waft 😆

Which film or TV scenes do it for you?
Links welcome!

Only Fools and Horses where Del falls through the bar after trying to impress some girls and Trigger when he gets an award for his broom

Talkinpeace · 02/01/2025 16:02

Any and every Two Johns segment
but this I have to make sure I'm not trying to eat or drink while watching

Ruprecht in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels.
He loves to run and run...

Only fools and horses when Del Boy goes to lean on the bar that's been lifted up

Waitingfordoggo · 02/01/2025 16:08

Withnail and 'I' cowering in bed, wailing 'We mean no harm!'
That whole film though- the dialogue is superb.

"There's too many chairs" hotel room scene in Knocked Up.
In Pretty Woman, the scene where JR proceeds to eat some green decoration on a dessert. It's her face as she realises it's inedible.
A real oldie. Cheech & Chong and when the massive amount of acid kicks in when the Cop shows up at the car. Very funny.

I really wanted to like Knocked Up because I adore Paul Rudd. I found it pretty rubbish overall but the chair scene saved it- one of the few times I laughed out loud at a film.

The bunk beds in Step Brothers
practically all of the IT Crowd
Harry Enfield and Chums - Kevin and Perry
and Paul Whitehouse singing opera

HRTQueen · 02/01/2025 16:23

The Inbetweeners - Jay crashing Neil's new motorbike after telling the others he had raced Lance Armstrong and of course beat him

so many great lines especially from Jay

PuppyMonkey · 02/01/2025 16:25

Love that Frasier is getting some love on here - Ham Radio is brilliant. Roz having to say “mulpiple murburrers” because of her bad toothache. Grin

Michellesbackbrace · 02/01/2025 16:28

Romy and Michelle is one of my go-to films when I need a laugh too op. Some other favourite scenes:

Romy in a bar chatting up a handsome guy:
”That’s a very nice suit”

Guy: “Thanks”

Romy: “what do you do for a living?

Guy: “I’m a suit salesman”

Romy: “Oh, I’m sorry - I cut my foot earlier and my shoe is now filling up with blood” - (shuffles off with a fake limp)😂😂😂

One of me & my best mates lines that we like to use when imitating a bitch is “My name is Christy Masters Christiansen…hmmm” (head tilt, smug face)
And “I hope your babies look like monkeys”🤣

Manzana · 02/01/2025 16:28

the One Foot in the Grave Algave episode, where they think they are in a jail cell for 36 hours living on a single lemon, “it wasn’t locked, it was just a bit stiff, wallowing in our own filth, sucking lemons, its our holiday home”

MadameCholetsDirtySecret · 02/01/2025 16:33

Bob Mortimer in just about anything, but his story about Chris Rea running him a bath with an egg in it on WILTY is one of the best 5 minutes of comedy (with David Mitchell's response ) you will ever see.

EnjoythemoneyJane · 02/01/2025 16:39

The scene in the Penrith tearoom in Withnail and I. Same, @Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g, cracks me up every single time - esp the pissed up “alright heaah?”, and also knowing that Richard E Grant was really laughing in the scene and couldn’t stop.

The other one is the Motherland episode where Anne’s nip has squished out the bottom of her bikini in the pool and she’s just chatting on while the rest of them stare at it 😂

Twixtmasjigsaw · 02/01/2025 16:42

Monty Python - The Batley Townswomen's Guild recreate the Battle of Pearl Harbour. Makes me laugh until I wheeze...

EnjoythemoneyJane · 02/01/2025 16:44

Also, can’t name any specific scenes, but I definitely laughed out loud at loads of bits in Colin from Accounts, Frankie & Grace and Episodes - all such great writing.

Phineyj · 02/01/2025 17:01

The episode of Ghosts where they're having the super awkward dinner party with the gammon neighbours while the ghosts have their Moona Stone! celebration.

Littletinytarzanswingingfromanosehair · 02/01/2025 17:05

Forgot to add -
Monty python "the four Yorkshire man"
If you all haven't seen it, YouTube it!

Cocolapew · 02/01/2025 09:04

The (US ) Office opener where Dwight sets a fire to see how they cope in a fire drill. "Save Bandit" and "the fire is shooting at us".
Same show, the cpr scene where Kelly randomly gets up to dance.

This scene gets me just thinking about it

MrsAvocet · 02/01/2025 17:30

The part in Johnny English Reborn where he's been drugged and is being controlled by the bad guy until Word Up! comes on the radio. I'm not even really a fan of Rowan Atkinson but his dancing in that part of the film has me laughing hysterically every time I see it.

ExquisiteSocialSkills · 02/01/2025 17:47

The Day Today - Peter O’ Hanra-Hanrahan and the German Finance Minister.

I’m Alan Partridge - Alan lap dancing and Sally Philips as Sophie the receptionist.

Monty Python - the miner whose dad is a playwright.

Coupling? Blimey. Is that the one with the discussion of cushions?

Different episode (I think), but same series.

Timeforatincture · 02/01/2025 18:49

Am I allowed radio? Pretty much all of Cabin Pressure cracks me up but the discussion about how many otters you can get in an aircraft is priceless.

PermanentTemporary · 02/01/2025 18:51

'You were a TOMATO!' - most of Tootsie tbh but Sydney Pollack's scenes are fantastic.

whydoihavetowork · 02/01/2025 18:57

Does anyone remember Star Stories? That cracks me up - the scene in the Take That one where Gary and Robbie fight over a pie then Howard is howling like a dog.

Also-

  • Peep Show "Brown toast is the main white is the dessert" "The problem with people is they voted for the Nazis and like Coldplay."
  • Gavin & Stacey - "Do you want a corn on the cob"
  • Team America - every time Matt Damon says his name!
Anythingyousay · 02/01/2025 18:58

Gavin and Smithy slipping over in the hospital corridor on the way to Neil the baby's birth still makes me laugh out loud! Was really hoping they'd recreate it when running down the aisle in the recent episode.
