Why are you awake?

Me? Had a non productive meeting for child arrangements with ex. Going round in circles and have come down with a lovely Christmas cold.

I’m on a 7-7.30 night shift. Just on my break at the minute

notwittywithusernames · 28/12/2024 01:38

@UpUpUpU I hope it's going ok!

Because my dp is snoring. I have a house full of teens/young adults who don't appear to know how to be stealthy, and I have an elderly arthritic dog who can't seem to get comfy so keeps waking and pacing.

PlantDoctor · 28/12/2024 01:39

I didn't get a break all day. Very hectic with visiting family and DH took to bed ill for a chunk of it. So I just wanted some time to myself. It's a false economy though as more of the same tomorrow. This month is too busy for me

pnutter · 28/12/2024 01:39

Also an elderly dog who wont settle
And im doing a jigsaw

UsernameTaken76 · 28/12/2024 01:39

DH has a cold therefore his snoring is worse than usual. The house is cold so I refuse to go and lie on the uncomfortable couch.

notwittywithusernames · 28/12/2024 01:40

@CandyLeBonBon bless your doggo 🐶

Bloody sciatica!!

PlantDoctor · 28/12/2024 01:40

Sorry you're having issues with the ex. Not surprised you're up. Empathising with the cold as I've had it most of the month. Never usually struck down like this, and for so long too!

ApocalypseNowt · 28/12/2024 01:41

Because DH came home from the pub with 4 drunk friends. Asked me very seriously if I wanted to come down for a chat with them.

I politely declined as I'm in my pyjamas and have a sleeping cat on me.

All gone quiet now and cat has moved so I'm going to venture downstairs to check they're gone.

Moon30 · 28/12/2024 01:41

Anxiety mainly and the peace and quiet is nice too

Redshoeblueshoe · 28/12/2024 01:42

I'm watching Jason Statham and drinking wine - I think that is a good enough reason to be awake

Maria1982 · 28/12/2024 01:43

Been travelling all day, much (much!) delayed by fog. Have arrived and settled my son to sleep, now just want an hour to myself after feeling ‘On’ all day.

Fairydust34 · 28/12/2024 01:44

2 of the children have a sick bug and the older one just threw up everywhere 🤢

notwittywithusernames · 28/12/2024 01:44

@Redshoeblueshoe he's not my cup of tea but a very valid reason to be awake!

Tinnitus. I went deaf suddenly in one ear 3 years ago & I've had loud continuous tinnitus in that ear ever since. Most nights it doesn't bother me but I had a few drinks this evening (for our wedding anniversary) & I think this has exasperated it. My brain feels like it's going to explode and I just can't escape the ringing and buzzing. The 2 espresso martinis probably didn't help 🙈.

CalicoPusscat · 28/12/2024 01:45

@notwittywithusernames aw rest up with loads of fluids.

I've had a spectacularly bad Xmas with family nastiness and friend attempted to commit suicide so is in hospital still. I'm getting exceptionally snappy with everyone around me. It's all still playing on my mind.

NailsHairNipsHeels · 28/12/2024 01:45

My back is so sore it's making me feel sick
Plus I need a wee but just about comfortable so don't want to move,

Was it SSHL? DD experienced it too a few months ago - we were lucky in that most of her hearing returned but the tinnitus is unfortunately very much here to stay. Such an awful condition, definitely not spoken about enough! Pink noise is your friend!!

Coffeetostart · 28/12/2024 01:50

Depression and anxiety. Live alone. Feel utterly down. Listening to Coldplay to distract myself.

PerambulationFrustration · 28/12/2024 01:50

I revert to my natural nocturnal state whenever I have time off.

Sorry posted to quickly. I hope you find the time for yourself and that others nastiness is not a reflection on you it's them.

I hope that the person in hospital is receiving the care they deserve and need.
