I have a few hours to myself tomorrow and need a good cry. Any film recommendations?

Me Before You - Emilia Clarke plays a 20
something desperate for a job, who becomes a carer/companion to Will, a 30 something who was made paraplegic in a traffic accident.

Steel Magnolias
My Sister's Keeper
First Knight
A Little Princess
The Secret Garden

Schindler's List - nothing like knowing it's real for making me cry.

Thefastplodder · 26/12/2024 05:40

As PP - The Green Mile, watched it the other week and absolutely sobbed 😄

SunriseCat · 26/12/2024 05:42

Came here to say this! A guaranteed cry every time.

A Monster Calls, A Man called otto, About Time

Jellycatspyjamas · 26/12/2024 07:50

Stepmom with Susan Sarandon and Julia Roberts. It’s my go to for a good weep, or Marley and Me.

Mummadeze · 26/12/2024 07:53

Beaches!

WinterFoxes · 26/12/2024 07:55

Lion. I started crying at the beginning and didn't stop all the way through. Literally soaked through 3 packets of tissues. Also a true and beautiful story.

needhelpwiththisplease · 26/12/2024 07:56

Beaches

frockandcrocs · 26/12/2024 07:56

Me Before You absolutely broke me- the lady sat next to me in the cinema was handing me tissues and gave me a hug at the end 😂

Marley & Me if you're an animal lover will make you sob.

AuntieMarys · 26/12/2024 07:56

Sophies Choice

TheaBrandt · 26/12/2024 07:58

Remains of The Day
Beaches

TheaBrandt · 26/12/2024 07:59

One Life. Saw it at the cinema no one in there wasn’t crying at the end

Itsalwaysfools · 26/12/2024 08:01

Sophies Choice

I've always wanted to read the book (have seen the film). 2025 goal!

Quite a few of us have watched The Green Mile then

SummaLuvin · 26/12/2024 08:12

Pixar’s Coco.

TheaBrandt · 26/12/2024 08:13

I wouldn’t watch Sophie’s choice again. It’s not so much sad as traumatic. And quite a weird film.

ChronicallySleepy · 26/12/2024 08:15

Agree The Green Mile
Of Mice & Men
The Lion King

I can't think of any others off the top of my head but there's probably loads more I've sobbed watching.

Ilovemyshed · 26/12/2024 08:16

Warhorse

NearlyNewHip · 26/12/2024 08:17
