Storm Darragh has been and he has brought me….. a rattan footstool, presumably belonging to one of my neighbours.

He is trying his best to take our trampoline to give to someone else.

Has anyone had any nice gifts courtesy of Darragh?

Four of next doors fence panels and a garden chair that’s definitely not mine

A shower cap

The top half of someone’s burgundy metal barbecue.

….a very scary drive down the motorway to visit my 95 year old dad! I recovered with gin and custard creams

Itlooksworsethanitis · 08/12/2024 22:52

He brought me my sister and her family, who have had zero power for over two days…..

Our 3-doors-up neighbours discovered that we are due a baby next week when Darragh deposited a load of cardboard boxes that recently contained assorted baby furniture in their garden, hotly pursued by DP who was trying to corral them back into our recycling bin.

My sizeable belly hasn’t given the game away thus far, apparently Grin

Probably didn't want to ask in case you had just got fat. You know how it is.

Or, you could be like our slim, athletic neighbour who I spotted coming back from a jog more tired than usual. I noticed she had a bit of a bump and said to DH "I wonder when she's due." she was pushing a buggy a few weeks later. Flat as a pancake again, of course!

We didn't get any presents at home, apart from DS's old frisbee that had been on the shed roof for years, but we very randomly acquired an empty suitcase at our allotment.

ObieJoyful · 08/12/2024 23:19

He brought my friend a fine bump to the head when he lifted her off her feet and deposited her on the road.

Spacie · 08/12/2024 23:19

I really regretted not having a dashcam when an inflatable dinosaur bounced across the road in front of my car this morning. I could have gone viral.

ItsBlowinAHoolieOut · 08/12/2024 23:21

Nothing absolutely nothing:(
Nearly the contents of a neighbours wheelie bin that blew over but they spotted it quick and scooped it all up.
However he has broken my parasol on his travels and broken one plant pot

Perplexed20 · 08/12/2024 23:23

A bit of our roof, unfortunately. Although, lovely neighbours are apparently rallying around to stick it back on.

Two days with no power, no water and no internet! Felt very surreal ( and cold and miserable )in an all electric house...

mondaytosunday · 09/12/2024 03:48

Rubbish from somewhere. Normally my gate is closed but it was open and the wind swept a few things in. Street of terraced houses and it's not rubbish day yet and the public bins are quite a ways down the street so not sure where it's come from.

HelpMeGetThrough · 09/12/2024 06:05

Half of our fence in a heap on the back patio. Should be on the side garden.

Going to see if I can claim on the building's insurance (not a chance I reckon), if they say no, I'm bringing it in the house and claiming on the contents insurance. 😁

My ex-mil was named Edna, if that’s who is coming next, be afraid, very afraid. That woman was a battle axe!

Whoooh! Now I am afraid!!!!!

She wasn't in Willow the Wisp was she?

He turned my chickens upside down. Put them to bed at 5pm, checked them 6 hours later and their entire house was on its side. Poor chooks. It happened in the storm a couple of weeks ago too. But that also took their whole enclosure. Ripped it up and tossed it upside down a few hundred yards away.

WoollyRosebud · 10/12/2024 20:28

All the leaves and rubbish in the garden have been moved to one side and my garden broom was on its side next to the pile. Being helpful now to make up for being so destructive to other people
