Storm Darragh has been and he has brought me….. a rattan footstool, presumably belonging to one of my neighbours.

He is trying his best to take our trampoline to give to someone else.

Has anyone had any nice gifts courtesy of Darragh?

I have my neighbours broken end caps from their roof and it's decided to try and rip the roof off my conservatory ... it's weighed down with paving slabs and I'm praying it holds.

But it's buggered ... I feel like crying, this weather makes me feel sick. 🤢 not told DH yet as he's at work and doesn't need the stress...

Left a wreath but took ours, also left 2 carrier bags and a lot of loose recycling bits. Next door lost their trampoline but appear to of gained a large piece of tarpaulin sheeting.

Every time we are forecast windy weather there is a large tree i would love to be blow down, but no, it survives for another day.

We have one that has come through our bedroom window. Thankfully, after dealing with the same treat given to us via DS1's window, several years ago, we have an idea how he got it through to us.

We live in a listed building, so the windows are a bit ropey. Never mind, it doesn't happen that often. Every few years there'll be a storm that rains for long enough onto that window. Then it's time for some old towels and keep an eye on it. Don't know why I missed it today till I heard it dripping onto the floor 😡

I’m here for the photos! (Of the silly things, not damage).

Sophiesaph24 · 07/12/2024 18:04

Brought a tree down near me and with it power to a good chunk of this side of our small town. I have heat from a wood burner and gas rings for water so will be ok, rest of family away at in-laws till tomorrow.

He bought me a garden chair from next door and a bag that used to contain horse feed.

He's brought us copious amounts of seafoam, all over the windows and car etc. Unfortunately, it is tinged with brown, revolting - thank you SW Water.

Ooh no! Yuck!!

catscatscurrantscurrants · 07/12/2024 18:51

He's brought me two power cuts thus far. The power is back on but the lights keep flickering ominously.

UnravellingTheWorld · 07/12/2024 18:54

What appears to be some boy's (deflated) punching bag.

Husband is stressing about his fence blowing away - he only assembled and built it last month. It's holding firm so far!

£1 each? I wonder why people don't do thet rather than spraying their numbers on in massive sizes as if the refuse collectors might have terrible eye sight or something .

It's to stop people pinching them you can peel a sticker off.

Someone in my village was killed by a falling tree. So not much to joke about really.

MisterT373 · 07/12/2024 19:04

My TV signal is on the blink so I think its rattling the TV aerial.

I have friends in Midwest USA who had a tornado pass close to their house & when they were tidying up after they found it had deposited a Twister mat.

That is absolutely tragic, sorry .

I do think it is ok when we are probably all stuck at home miserable to share a bit of humour. That does not take away from the seriousness of the situation.

Patienceinshortsupply · 07/12/2024 19:23

Our NDN's recently acquired a second hand (rather well loved) trampoline, that's now balancing precariously on the very expensive fence we put in a couple of years ago. DH is doing a good impression of a 90 year old in a nursing home today and won't even go outside to try to sort it. He may be Darragh's next victim if storms can be held accountable for burying annoying people under the patio........... Hmm

MargaretThursday · 07/12/2024 19:35

Last storm took my plastic box from one side of the garden to the other.

For some reason this one has brought it back.

I’m really sorry to hear that. I didn’t mean any offence with the thread.

@MerryLiftMass nobody thinks you set out to make light of tragedies that happened x

Notaflippinclue · 07/12/2024 19:51

Shit happens - look at Carolina! - we are lucky and our life goes on and humour sometimes helps.

Notaflippinclue · 08/12/2024 11:28

Sorry for your loss but. Anyway but on a brighter note - thought I had escaped the worst but just found a 6x 2 feet piece of glass off the greenhouse had flew about 30 feet through the air and smashed on the lawn - must have been a sight to see! So the storm actually brought me a hole in the roof.

Johndoeskellington · 08/12/2024 11:33

Storm Darragh has been generous with my property and given my fence to my neighbours.

2025willbemytime · 08/12/2024 16:40

The storm gave and took. A pair of someone's sunglasses and half my shed roof covering.

Cattenberg · 08/12/2024 16:49

It briefly brought our wheelie bin to life. DD and I saw it stagger drunkenly down the drive, before falling over. It was in a recessed area, a steep step down from the drive, so goodness knows how it got out.

HarryGrotter · 08/12/2024 16:51

He brought us neighbour’s fence panel that he then proceeded to beat to shit out of trying to get it out of our garden, then fetched someone’s parasol and smashed our everlite conservatory roof with it. Fucker

LigamentBandy · 08/12/2024 17:02

He's eventually brought me..... some confetti which was originally my recycling bin lid (not sure how, but nothing else seems to have moved at all?!)
