Why the fuck is he attacking our gov decisions like inheritance tax on farms? He seems obsessed with Britain ever since the riots . Also can you imagine if sir Allan sugar was posting stuff about American gov policy like Elon musk is.
All because he’s been summoned about disinformation on X That led to the riots.
is he just a right wing twat? He’s gonna have to pipe down if America wants us to be on their side if I was labour I would be getting so annoyed .
side note I sit left centre but Peter Mandelson licking boots of Elon and trump is a piss take.
maybe we are going to have to move closer to Europe as America is unhinged by the sounds of Elon .

World’s richest man responds to UK parliamentarians saying they will call him to testify about X’s role in spreading disinformation during riots

Think it was words encouraging people to set fire to immigrant hotels during a riot where people were attempting to do exactly that, wasn’t it?

Right so not just words it’s incitement of a crime in a time tga5 had people going fucking bazerk.
we don’t have free speech like America never have. There are hate laws in the uk but there are also incitement as well the cases I have seen include a dude in 2014 after a teacher got stabbed at his old school wishing he could have killed the woman .
again that is inciting a crime it’s hateful not just an opinion.
this is where the right wing are very disingenuous

You sound very angry and dismissive of anyone who thinks different than you do. I thought left wing people were supposed to be lovely, welcoming and tolerant of others’ beliefs?

That image is pure Bond villain.

He reminds me of the villain in Johnny English Strikes Again.

Lots of people in prison are there solely for twitter words.

They are if you don't have any understanding of the law.

Littlemissgobby · 21/11/2024 21:23

I don’t think you understand the difference between an individual person with absolutely no influence or money or power having a comment about a leader of a country and then somebody like Elon Musk a fucking billionaire who now is part of Donald Trump‘s government. That is a big difference plus he also controls Twitter which by the way loads of people are leaving at the rate of knots but that’s not a problem. The problem is the influence he has the way he manufactures people have voted in The last recent election in America. He definitely put more Donald Trump stuff on Twitter than Kamala Harris and if you believe in free speech, then you should believe in equality but I tend to find you guys only believe in free speech when it’s right wing viewpoint.

Well you are an individual person - why don't you make some money and buy twitter or start your own platform if Elon bothers you that much.

InWalksBarberalla · 21/11/2024 22:58

noblegiraffe · 21/11/2024 20:17

Of the fact that he seems to spend an inordinate amount of time posting twaddle on twitter?

Well everyone laughed at him when he spent $44 billion on twitter and was posting twaddle on it. Now he has the government he wanted and a seat right next to the president. Possibly not as stupid as he comes across.

Seriously, is he mentally ill, on drugs, just a sad arse who spends too much time on the internet or what?

Come off it, he's the richest man in the world and (far more importantly) massively improved the electric vehicle industry and financed research into satellite internet connections that are currently being used in (amongst others) Ukraine.

And yes, he's an arsehole. I have no idea why people would expect tech billionaires not to be- a massive geek, combined with being extremely competitive and single minded. Not much point expecting a Barack Obama figure.

EasternStandard · 21/11/2024 23:07

mellongoose · 21/11/2024 19:14

It's not Britain he doesn't like. It's Labour and everything they stand for.

Yep

I was referring to the attached post he made recently on Twitter about aliens wanting memes. Twitter giving an insight into his thought process reveals someone who seems quite unhinged.

MaidOfSteel · 21/11/2024 23:15

He's doing what a lot if bored, wealthy people do; toying with other people's lives.

I think Elon is brilliant.

That 2TierStarmer is out to destroy the country should be clear for all (apart from those who solely read the Guardian) to see from his and Thieves actions since being in government.

Edited

Out to destroy the country? For what purpose?

Menopausalsourpuss · 21/11/2024 23:21

I think you have to be older like me (56) to see how downhill this country has gone. Before hate speech was brought into law in 2000s you could only be charged with incitement as it should be. People have absolutely gone to prison for years for speech not incitement eg criticising Islam. Women have been visited by the police for believing in biological sex (a fact). A young girl has been banned from football for asking someone with a beard if they're a man. To Americans (and most of the world) that is all bonkers. Under both the Tories and Labour too.

No some of us think he’s a big joke who is attacking my gov

Ugh hate to break it to you. Your current gov is a big, fat joke. Labours' collective IQ and achievement does not match Musk's.

Musk's government department is named after an internet meme and you think our government is a joke?

What's in a name? At least he is not a dummy like Lammy or Rayner. Let's see what he and Vivek achieve eh?

noblegiraffe · 21/11/2024 23:49

What's in a name?

You don't think it's a bit embarrassing to have him taking the piss like this?

Ok.

I wondered the same thing - why does Elon care?

I don't know, but I find it oddly flattering 😄. I'd more or less accepted the UK is pretty much irrelevant these days, but we're living rent free in Elon's mind, clearly!

He is an odd duck.

Maybe what people actually do, and achieve, is more important than what they post on social media. Just a thought.

What Elon appears to be doing is posting on social media. A lot.

So perhaps that is something to look at.

EM is a lot of things, but he's not an idiot.

He's an idiot who got lucky and rich enough to recoup all the losses incurred by his failures on the back of the interest alone but can't see the benefit of protecting democracy, political integrity, or the law.

So yeah, Musk is many things besides idiot... but genius ain't one of them.

noblegiraffe · 22/11/2024 00:09

Totallymessed · 22/11/2024 00:06

You said that what people do is more important than what they post on social media.

If what they do is post on social media, then presumably that's important.

He has literally said that part of his job now is shitposting.

Nah, that's not Elon Musk - he's absolutely not an idiot, and I imagine he is a genius. Trump, yes, an idiot who got lucky but Musk has achieved a huge amount. He obviously wastes far too much time on Twitter, but he has made a huge and positive difference to the world. Regardless of how unpleasant he may be.

Ok. His posting on twitter is more important than advances in electric vehicles and satellite communications. I'll leave you to it.

Right so you admit he was buying twitter to get into power by pumping misinformation and interfering with election by cheating the algorithms. U obviously think that is good
