What is elon musk problem with Britain?

Littlemissgobby · 21/11/2024 17:18

Why the fuck is he attacking our gov decisions like inheritance tax on farms? He seems obsessed with Britain ever since the riots . Also can you imagine if sir Allan sugar was posting stuff about American gov policy like Elon musk is.
All because he’s been summoned about disinformation on X That led to the riots.
is he just a right wing twat? He’s gonna have to pipe down if America wants us to be on their side if I was labour I would be getting so annoyed .
side note I sit left centre but Peter Mandelson licking boots of Elon and trump is a piss take.
maybe we are going to have to move closer to Europe as America is unhinged by the sounds of Elon .

Elon is not the billionaire the U.K. should be worried about, it’s the other ones hiding in the shadows.

RedToothBrush · 22/11/2024 09:39

So is twitter going to get banned in the UK?

If twitter gets banned in the UK, what will Musk's response be? Will he make some business decisions relating to Tesla? Will he talk to his new boss and try to influence US foreign policy to the UK?

Could be some interesting fall out here if a decision to go nuclear and ban twitter was attempted.

I think there are some people who are somewhat deluded here.

Which billionaires should we be worried about?

PandoraSox · 22/11/2024 09:42

Twitter is a cess pit, but it shouldn't be banned. Is anyone really advocating for that?

Daysnconfuddled · 22/11/2024 09:42

Maybe the ones trying to shape society that Starmer met with yesterday?

Just a thought. You could always just follow his twitter and watch what he is doing.

Well if Starmer is meeting them, and it is mentioned in his Twitter feed, they are not exactly in the shadows are they?

I don't look at Twitter much now as it is too toxic for me, so don't follow anyone's feeds.

Do you actually understand that he’s actually blocked loads of people on his own Twitter? He doesn’t want freedom of speech. He just wants freedom of speech that agrees with him. That’s what every fascist fuck is like oh they will tell you they like freedom of speech but it turns out that when people protest for instance in this country about climate change the media makes out that they are just a rebel Crowd of just trying to stop people driving but yet when farmers block the fucking roads with tractors apparently that’s okay that’s what freedom of speech is with the right wing only if you agree with them

I’m sorry OP I find this comment highly ironic, given Twitter blocked loads of people from using the platform because they didn’t like their views, before Musk purchased it…

caringcarer · 22/11/2024 10:03

I think he's pretty pissed off that so many Labour MP's went to campaign to Kamala Harris against election interference by other countries.

UK life is on the down elevator just now.

It will be interesting to see what happens in the USA.

UK life is on the downward lift

Hes a dangerous right wing twat without whom the world would be a much nicer and safer place.

He used to vote Democrat until it understandably became untenable. I’d love to see your definition of “right wing”. I don’t think you understand how much Starlink has helped connect the world including in disaster zones. The more people use Musk as an easy target the more I’m convinced they don’t know what they’re talking about and have likely been spoon fed by the usual suspects.

That would assume everyone has knowledge of who runs Blackrock. They are the most shadowy overlords on the planet.

But hey, toxic twitter is the big issue here. Not selling out the country on your behalf. Got it.

Musk doesn’t have a government department. What an idiotic post. At least do some research and critical thinking.

And yes this Labour government is a joke. I’m glad Elon is calling them out for their lies and hypocrisy.

You do research he has set up a department.
Elon Musk is taking Doge to the White House, but not as cryptocurrency or an internet meme.
Instead, the Tesla CEO, SpaceX founder and billionaire is set to co-lead a new department with an acronym of the same name: the Department of Government Efficiency, or D.O.G.E.
Dogecoin became a phenomenon in 2021, with Musk and other prominent figures and celebrities endorsing the cryptocurrency. The "memecoin" became so popular that its market value rose to $45 billion in April 2021.
Musk was one of the coin's biggest supporters, so much so that in 2023 he even temporarily changed the logo on X, formerly known as Twitter, to the Doge dog logo, triggering a spike in Dogecoin value.
Doge memes could return in 2025 when President-elect Donald Trump takes office after he tapped Musk and entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy to lead the Department of Government Efficiency.

Trump taps Elon Musk, Vivek Ramaswamy to lead new 'Department of Government Efficiency'

The move comes after Musk became one of Trump's staunchest supporters, and biggest financial backers, during the last stage of his presidential campaign

So, he gets publicity for his companies for free.
He gets to be close to the big guys too, to the point he has a post in Trump's government.
You may not appreciate him, and I do not like him much myself, but he is not stupid. Far from. Facts are facts. Actually being rather obnoxious is working wonders for him.

I don’t think he’s stupid I think he’s manipulating the gov for himself. I also find it interesting that many Republican voters of the Donald Trump type. Don’t like the deep state don’t like imaginary billionaires like Bill Gates but quite happily think it’s okay for Elon Musk to manipulate the election make that makes sense.

Imagine you are one of the richest people in the world what would you do with all of that money?
Yes holidays, great clothes/cars would be lovely but eventually you would tire of those.
Instead why not meddle in other countries, flex your muscles and use your power; after all why not?
He’s probably clever enough to realise that humankind is just a random act of nature; would it actually matter if we all got wiped out?

I will raise your point and come back at you. Imagine if you had enough money to help other people that suffer that really need help imagine putting that money and helping continents and people this is what I don’t get with people like him and Bezos I really believe that these are just like psychotic or sociopathic people who really don’t give a shit about people. .

This

Do you know what’s really funny? Is a guy that likes freedom of speech all he ever does is block people that disagrees with him he doesn’t want freedom of speech for everybody. He just wants freedom of speech for the right wing viewpoints and at the end of the day Right there is free speech but there’s free speech with responsibility. People want to go back to a time where they can be racist, et cetera well you know what we’re not going back.

They didn’t just block because of views if you look at Twitter now it’s a right cesspool full of people who are literally just abusive calling people. God knows whatever names they don’t want to argue they just want to get one over the liberals. I’ve gone onto blue sky and people debate and talk rationally Twitter didn’t just block people because they were wrong. They blocked a lot of of the trolls too, but under musk that’s okay now.

Thing is this shows how little you know about politics every time there’s an election other countries do that it’s volunteers that do it and people do it. It’s not just a first thing that

I genuinely think people would be happy for that to happen.

Even though Starmer has proved himself to be a shady fucker, they would trust him to control what information we see.

It's genuinely incredulous

I don’t know how long you were on Twitter but it was a cesspit full of abusive people long before it became X. It seemed to get worse over the last 5-10yrs, I think it’s a horrible platform but that applies to the pre-X Twitter as well.

People are under the illusion that free speech is some nice shiny place, but the reality is that you have to learn to TOLERATE people who have different views that yourself, it is the 'downside' of free speech - you can't just have it your own way. But the consequences of not having free speech do not bear thinking about, or maybe they do - have a look into history and see what happens when speech is controlled BY THE GOVERNMENT.

I seriously think people are losing their minds when they want a government to control what information they see just because they get a little offended by what someone has said. It is so naive and childish.

Sounds like you think nazi Twitter is fine and funny how you don't mention how Elon has censored people he doesn't agree with.

Childish indeed.
