Anything at all that you found whether it be a bargain or a life hack... feel free to share. I'll try to think of some too

How to take a pill......tilt your head forward and not back........and here endeth 60 years of gagging pills down!

I'd forgotten about that suggestion, I'll try it tomorrow!! I'm currently taking magnesium tablets that are the size of house bricks.

that you can click on Reader button to read all those news articles which are behind a paywall. I didn't know you could do this. Game changer!

Please elaborate?

The 5surveys app - always thought it was a scam but I've earned £30 in two weeks just filling in surveys. It can be time consuming and repetitive though.

Cheese on toast, but instead of using butter, spread BBQ sauce on it before topping with cheese. Really tasty!

AirUp bottles for the kids. They drink loads more water now and have stopped nagging for juice all the time.

I've been with Sky for 8 years and only just started using the 2 free cinema tickets you get each month. I had no idea. I don't want to know how much money I've spent on cinema trips over the last 8 years when it would have been free 😂

Ohh! We've been with Sky a similar amount of time and don't know about the cinema tickets!

How do you access these? Although I am suspicious they may be for a big chain cinema that are all over an hour's drive from me, it's worth a look...

BitOutOfPractice · 20/11/2024 07:54

@Globules oh I’m so glad it helped. I think writing it down clearly as if you’re explaining it to a stranger also helps.

sillystrings · 20/11/2024 09:05

@SuperFi can you link to where you buy yours from?

Re the wireless charger, you have to remove the phone case before placing on the charging dock (if you use one).

Why did i not know that!

GottaLoveTheGuineas · 20/11/2024 11:24

@TheMoonismadeofcheese I don't need to remove my phone case, I just pop it down on the charger. Don't know anyone that needs to remove their case in my office

I have to say sorry, but AI / ChatGPT is terrible for the environment, it is highly energy- and water-intensive.

I'm not sure how that works. But I do know that some people's jobs are at risk or have actually been lost due to AI.

Revolution Laundry. No more constant cycle of washing clothes, putting them on the airer, waiting 2-3 days for everything to dry, spending hours ironing.

Now we do all our washing at the end of the week, shove it in huge bags and take it to the huge industrial drier. £3.50 and all our washing is dry and ready to be folded and put away. I still have to iron/steam most things (because I'm fussy) but now most things just need a quick going over and they're done. Can't believe I didn't know about this sooner.

Edited

I genuinely can't see how that improves life. Filling vast bags with a week's worth of wet washing and having to lug them somewhere else instead of chucking them in the tumble drier or hanging them flat on radiators overnight, which makes the house smell clean and massively reduces ironing. It sounds like more work to me.

ShinyAppleDreamingOfTheSea · 20/11/2024 11:45

@Autumnweddingguest

I think that the PPs that are recommending the Revolution laundry don't have tumble driers in their house.

This doesn’t work for me. I get a bit of the article and then it goes blank.

I went to an inpost to post some Vinted parcels and I'm new to the Vinted game and assumed inpost was all digital... it wasn't and I had to print off labels and didn't realise. I don't have a printer at home but there was a Tescos so I printed photos of the labels and sellotaped them on. Has saved me a lot of trips to the library to use their printer!

This is genius.

I found a canned alcoholic ginger beer at a local market, bloody delicious and waaayyy nicer than the usual crabbies. No nasties in it either which makes me feel like it's semi healthy!

Add a dash of rum to it and chefs kiss. Love it so much I get 12 cans delivered each month as a little treat😂

Oo what’s it called?

I absolutely LOVE ginger beer and I’m always on the lookout for new ones to try, any chance you could share the link?

@Aussiegold I've come back to report I tried this last night and it hit my throat so hard I fired water out of my nose. So not a success. 😄

Ooh which one

Amarige · 21/11/2024 11:44

Early this morning I went to my sisters and she had buttered pulleys with marmite and cheese ready for us.

Thinner than a Crumpet I haven't had one in ages. Delicious!

I gave the lean forward bit tablet taking thing last night and it didn't work for me. I'm taking antibiotics that are the size of horse tablets. Luckily they're capsule shaped so if I put them in my mouth in the correct position I can get them down which is miraculous as before my operation in July I couldn't even swallow a tiny tablet
