Anything at all that you found whether it be a bargain or a life hack... feel free to share. I'll try to think of some too

Ooh yes, the gym. Well, actually swimming. It's been a few months since I'm regularly back in to it but it has been so lovely. And waterproof headphones - marvellous discovery 😄
I haven't had the motivation to clean up my diet properly though as per pp. Small steps!

Do the headphone work when you swim under water? Which ones do you use?

GreengrassofW · 18/11/2024 13:43

When I have my morning coffee I've started voice journalling about what I want to achieve during the day, rather than scrolling. I have ADHD and this is helping me focus. A lot!

GameOfJones · 18/11/2024 13:46

Lidl ready salted ridge cut crisps in the white bag. They are really good and there's no rubbish in them....just potatoes, oil and salt. No chemicals or UPFs.

Air fryer s'mores dip.

Stick marshmallows in an air fryer liner and put them in at 180° for 4 minutes, take it out, add a broken up bar of chocolate (as much or as little as you like) and put it back in at 180° for 1 more minute. Grab a packet of digestives and use them to scoop up the marshmallowy chocolatey gooey goodness.

That a woman who lives in my lane has been trying to be friends for a while, and I somehow didn't realise! She's absolutely lovely and now I have a new friend. She's been so supportive while we've all been poorly and stressed, dropping off sweet little food parcels and nice things. I'm making a hamper for her today and then popping over for a cuppa and a natter.

RabbitsRock · 18/11/2024 14:55

That it’s possible to have really good chats/giggles with DD15 - the last few years with her have been incredibly stressful & it’s starting to feel like there is light at the end of the tunnel.

Revolution Laundry. No more constant cycle of washing clothes, putting them on the airer, waiting 2-3 days for everything to dry, spending hours ironing.

Now we do all our washing at the end of the week, shove it in huge bags and take it to the huge industrial drier. £3.50 and all our washing is dry and ready to be folded and put away. I still have to iron/steam most things (because I'm fussy) but now most things just need a quick going over and they're done. Can't believe I didn't know about this sooner.

Edited

Can you wash them aswell as dry them? Is there usually a queue? This sounds awesome!

beetr00 · 18/11/2024 15:05

thanks to @Bananaram

When I lived in a flat alone, it was too tiny to dry my washing. I had a laundrette at end of my road. I used to wash my clothes at home and trot down to dry. I went home for the 30 mins. Had lovely dried and nearly crease free clothes. I used to save my washing up for 2/3 weeks. I had enough clothes.

I miss doing that. I do feel now back living alone I should go the same. But I do have a laundry room and bigger house.

Buying all kids stuff (art materials, stationary, storage, any toy) on vinted

Igotmylipstickon · 18/11/2024 15:12

@Novemberisfinallyhere yes, you can wash & dry. Normally I bring them to a machine beside our local shopping centre. Bung them in for a wash, do the shopping, then put washed clothes into the dryer, go back into the centre for more shopping or coffee. Dry in about 30 mins. Where I am, Sundays is usually the busiest day and the dryers can be all in use so you might have to wait a bit.

To answer another poster's question, yes I walk away and leave the clothes in, but the area is okay.

Fabulous thank you! Have found their website so hopefully there is one near me! This could be life changing 😂

PrimalLass · 18/11/2024 15:52

I must have used a terrible one then as it didn't dry at all. I'll maybe try again.

Yes they are fabulous and the sound is great. Bone conduction. In fact it is much better sound under the water than poolside because background noise is mostly cut out. Shokz are the nice brand, I might those next time. I've got a cheaper brand because at the time you couldn't store music on the actual headphones with Shokz you had to stream it (they have now caught up I believe and have both options) but mine have storage.

I've got these, Outlier Free Pro - https://amzn.eu/d/aeFiU1o . The little stopper to waterproof the mic is a bit fiddly but fine. They work brilliantly but I'll try to avoid a fiddly stopper when I come to replace them.

The non stick paper inserts for the air fryer. Saves cleaning the baskets.

WarriorN · 18/11/2024 18:02

@GagaBinks is that just the free version or a specific ai tool for teachers?

WarriorN · 18/11/2024 18:03

Bet twinkl does ai soon... 😆

Sunset6 · 18/11/2024 18:07

Wireless phone charging. No more endless wiggling the charging lead trying to get my phone to recognise the charger - now I just plonk the phone down on the pad - should have got one years ago!

I was talking about the free version! Although I'm at the point now I want to pay for the full version (the free one only lets you upload a certain amount of files/photo per day). I also have a licence for TeacherMatic AI and that's decent too.

Sgtmajormummy · 18/11/2024 18:13

Nancy Birtwhistle’s home made eco detergents. I make limescale remover, liquid laundry detergent and general spray cleaner. They cost pennies and are better than branded products. She’s a goldmine of tips for baking and gardening too.

My robot Hoover bought on Amazon Prime day for 60% off.

😲 Please recommend!! I'm on Android, is it for that too? <total technophobe>

Tesco own brand fruit pastilles - huge bag for 80p (?) and full of flavours you don't get with the real deal. Liquorice flavour are to be avoided though unless you want poisoned 🤢.

endofthelinefinally · 18/11/2024 18:19

Packing cubes. So useful if you are travelling but never staying more than one night in one place. You can either pack one outfit per cube, or sort according to garment. Toiletries in one - they all have a handle so can hang it on a hook in the bathroom. Keep an empty one for dirty laundry. Just take out what you need for the next day and everything else can stay neatly in the case. Nothing left in drawers.

WarriorN · 18/11/2024 18:22

Oh that's great GagaBinks. I'm in send so I generally find it's was to make what I need from scratch but may have a look for things like shape worksheets etc
